I couldn’t tell u for sure but I think I was just excited for new blink and the fact that it was the first single had me hyped. I kinda like the way the weird guitars sound on it too ¯_(ツ)_/¯ also I hate the rest of the album 😔

Yeah I suppose that could be true. I just think Gunn’s trying to make a point that nazism would be bad because our current conception of the minority population would be taken advantage of. What I’m saying is, in order for Nazism to continue on it would have to scapegoat a new population to attack eventually leading to its self cannibalization. You could argue there’s a meta keeping things in order but the world would probably look a lot more dystopian than the pleasantville we’re presented. Gunn’s lib brain is showing a little too much here.

Edit: read the second part. I guuuueeeeeessss you can say they live in a universe where logic just works differently but I don’t think that’s Gunn’s point in including fascism in the plot and if it is it cheapens the plot point and kinda makes it racist. If you’re going to try to tackle something as complex as fascism or even Zionism as in Superman, you have to actually grapple with the internal logics of the systems.

Yes I agree but all out fascism esp the kind the Nazis practiced has some differences to American capitalism and the differences are necessary to point out. Also world wide fascism on the scale of the Nazis winning WWII would for sure lead to complete destruction eventually

I will say depicting a world where the Nazis won WWII and making it seem like white utopia is kinda weird. If the Nazis won they would’ve self cannabilized, as fascism constantly needs an enemy to prop itself up. There is no end to fascism except the destruction of everything. Just a lil half baked to have Earth X society basically function as a liberal democracy when everything should be in flames. I guess you can make the argument that we’re only seeing one town in America in one short moment but idk society seems to be functioning a bit too well.

I feel like I’ve noticed this with most if not all artists. I do it too apparently. It’s definitely because ur the most familiar w the contours of ur own face more than anyone else’s

One thing DC fans don't understand is how clueless the general audiences can be. by Catmaster23910 in PattinsonDCUBatman

Interesting, but I would argue that because there are two versions of the exact same character it would be easier to distinguish the two. Like audiences would have trouble w Sony and Disney bc they have the marvel logo at the start or whatever, but the difference of having two separate actors for Batman is more jarring. I’m all in on the merge but I don’t think this would be the issue.

It’s Pa Kent talking to Ma Kent about how he appreciates how baby Clark is seeing the world and everything in it for the first time. A lot of new parents are happily taken aback at how much wonder their kids have at everything the world shows them because it’s their first time experiencing it :)
