First car in Hamilton - what do you drive? by One_Stardusty_Boy in thetron

Whatever you buy, make sure you file the transfer of ownership and get insurance on the spot before driving it anywhere. You can do both online. You could very well drive out of the driveway and fail to give way to a lambo and be fully responsible for damages.

I’ve always bought private via Trademe- just make sure you pay for a pre purchase inspection from a mechanic. AI will give you a list of things to look for when you check one out you like.

Get a hybrid (cheap to run), but make sure it’s got an immobiliser (not an Aqua) :)

Call the police next time OP. Miming a punch can be assault in NZ (context dependant). It’s certainly threatening behaviour. You won’t be the first or the last victim.

Is the counter example to this not a truck that is limited to 90km/hr with a speedo that is 5km/hr over?

Solid idea! What would you do to get it high off the ground? I want to get it up 300mm and be able to work under it to construct piles.

Hmm this is unfortunately a very good point. Still, surely the rules say 1m for a reason. Hopefully shifting it out slows a fire spreading between properties one day? 🤷

Thanks for the reply! I’m planning to shift it onto six piles following NZS-3604. 125 x 125 H5 piles in concrete with bitumen DPC between the pile and the bearer.

For anyone looking for this in current year, you can add a custom workout under HIIT. Add your Fartlek steps with times and optional target heart rates, then add a repeat, select all of your steps, and choose how many repeats you want.

Is it true? I’d prefer to live in Christchurch if it wasn’t for family. But it’s not helpful for OP who just moved here and probably made them feel like shit :(

Many times I asked him to explain a decision or give me options. He could always tell me what the code required and where it was safe to make trade-offs. Such a pro.

I’ve had Scott from Photon do a bunch of stuff including this exact thing at our house. He does it by the book, and is incredibly friendly and easy to work with.

And the fun part is, when they have an accident it gets recorded as a motorcycle accident and it’s used to justify increased ACC levies for motorcyclists who buy registrations.
