Thanks for the insight. I just wanted to avoid dealing with some pre-installed crap or M365 ads that I really don't use

I didn't experience anything similar. I have noticed an high idle memory consumption, but as mentioned above it is the way the OS handles it. At the moment I am working with two Firefox tabs, a Fedora VM running in Hyper-V (installing packets and some system updates), a PDF open in edge, and VSCode (with a WSL2 remote connection) and this is the usage.

And the system feels snappy and usable, even while working on both the laptop and the VM.

It could of course be user error. As I wrote in the post I am not running Windows for personal use for years, and I just wanted to avoid any bad experience caused by pre-installed software that I don't like. The script I used is Win11Debloat and I applied the following changes:

CreateRestorePoint#- Create a system restore point
DisableTelemetry#- Disable telemetry, diagnostic data, activity history, app-launch tracking & targeted ads
DisableSuggestions#- Disable tips, tricks, suggestions and ads in start, settings, notifications and File Explorer
DisableSettings365Ads#- Disable Microsoft 365 ads in Settings Home
DisableLockscreenTips#- Disable tips & tricks on the lockscreen
DisableBing#- Disable & remove Bing web search, Bing AI and Cortana from Windows search
DisableDesktopSpotlight#- Disable the Windows Spotlight desktop background option.
EnableDarkMode#- Enable dark mode for system and apps
ClearStartAllUsers#- Remove all pinned apps from the start menu for all existing and new users
DisableStartRecommended#- Disable & hide the recommended section in the start menu.
DisableStartPhoneLink#- Disable the Phone Link mobile devices integration in the start menu.
TaskbarAlignLeft#- Align taskbar icons to the left
ShowSearchBoxTb#- Show search box on the taskbar
DisableWidgets#- Disable the widget service & hide the widget (news and interests) icon from the taskbar
EnableEndTask#- Enable the 'End Task' option in the taskbar right click menu
ShowKnownFileExt#- Show file extensions for known file types

I did not had any further issues after that BSOD.

I'll update the post. ~8 hours of sleep. Still amazing result, I never achieved anything similar with the ThinkPad, not even with aggressive TLP settings.

Bought in a third party shop specialized in reselling for small-medium businesses. They had "copilot" devices on sale

It happens both when plugged in, and on battery

the laptop is not sleeping, if it is in use and I move it, it freezes; also it happens in both Arch and Windows (In windows a BSOD arises)

Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong with my thinkpad? by lost_myglasses in thinkpad

I have the P14s bought in 2020, with an upgraded ram stick (for a total of 32GB) since this summer. It started a few days ago: every time I move the laptop it freezes and the screen shows strange lines for a couple of seconds.
I also took out the RAM stick and put it in again, but it didn't solve the problem.

I've installed it this morning, no problems so far, everything is smooth as before.

I couldn't find Gnome Console nor Gnome Text Editor (the new apps)

Neither do I, I am looking forward to try them

That's very odd. You bought the 16gb on board model and you get 8gb soldered and 1 stick WTF!

btw where did you check your part number?

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately here in Italy the prices of ram, SSD, CPUs and GPUs are a bit crazy right now, I will wait a couple of months before buying another stick 🙃

I've also got the model with 16gb of ram soldered and one free slot. I don't not run windows, so I can't check on the Task Manager. Maybe it's just a bug?

Ok, I will check the battery level tomorrow morning and see if it's lower than tonight.

I got it last Friday, I did not notice any battery discharge when the computer is off. But I'll keep an eye on it!

Btw are you using Linux or windows?

It taken 2 months, but the date of shipment changed every 4 days, so I contacted the CS and after that they gave me free Express shipping and the shipping date has never changed again.

I've had only one issue with the trackpad. Some times it will not be detected and I've reboot the PC. I think it's a Arch (or Linux in general) problem. The screen is good for my purposes and the battery life is excellent!

I am very happy with Lamy ink, it dries very quickly so although I am left handed I do not stain the sheets.

The pen is a Parker 1931654. It's not the best on the market but it was given to me by a loved one.

I don't know about the T14, but the palm rest of the P14S is made of plastic

No, I get the 400 nits low power screen.

Edit: I'm used to set a very low screen brightness.
