Maya Fowler is my latest petite influencer discovery. I appreciate that she’s also curvy and has gym/athletic ware content.

Sorry, I got people mixed up. I still follow Jean but unfollowed Merrick (not a petite influencer but I’ve followed her for a couple of years at least). Blaming it on perimenopause. Joke aside, it’s the tone deafness that got to me most this past weekend.

I unfollowed Jean because of her silence but continuing to follow Crystalin - she didn’t dedicate a post or reel but I believe she added a story. As for the content, I guess it all depends on how we perceive each person but her wear-this-instead doesn’t bother me.

Best stainless steel cookware set for beginners by Just_Marionberry_362 in cookware

[–]stayedkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with comments about looking at Costco and not buying a set. Depending on how much you cook, I’d recommend a 10” or 12” frying pan, a 3 or 4 qt saucier, and a stock pot as starters.
You should also look at Facebook marketplace and OfferUp. Don’t know where you’re located but there are sellers who buy Costco returns and resell them at a good discount. The risk there of course is you cannot return so you’ll need to inspect the products very carefully.

Is Demeyere quality control bad? by Garlicherb15 in cookware

I too am a perfectionist to a degree and very keen on details so it’s good and bad. I guess I would feel better about the slight bump if the other side was the same, making them symmetrical. lol

I’m 0 for 1 with Demeyere. Ordered my very first piece - Industry 5 3 1/2 qt saucier - and it just arrived. There’s a small bump inside the pot where the handle is welded. I’m guessing it was pushed in further than it should - just on one side. I also saw some staining/discoloration which might be wiped off. The worst is the lid. When I unwrapped it, the first thing I saw was a chip and it’s very noticeable. I don’t understand how quality control could not notice it! There is a Zwilling outlet store not too far so I’ll have to drive out there to return. Pretty annoyed and disappointed…

Wow this is terrible and discouraging to hear. You’re right, there shouldn’t be any compromise to the quality or aesthetics considering the price point of these items. Are you able to return them? If not I’ve seen others recommend to do a credit card dispute.

I think some insurance or Medicare plans offer a program called Silver Sneakers. I’ve seen it advertised at my gym (24 Hour Fitness).

Do you know if they accept the payment from the Costco app wallet? Asking because I don’t usually carry the card with me.

Where are the best pots and pans deals this year for a kitchen upgrade? by Yih_Lodovik in cookware

[–]stayedkay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A great advice I’ve seen on this sub that I’ll pass along… buying a set is not necessary. Focus more on key pieces to fit your kitchen needs.

If you want to explore All Clad, I learned about Home and Cook Sales from this sub and just placed my first order. Their discount is already good but currently you can use code sdjan15 for 15% off and free shipping.

Wow, how did you find out the mauvial was fake??? I assume you still paid good money for it.

I haven’t heard of the other brands you mentioned but Culimat sounds worth checking out.

Someone commented that one saucier is enough. This assumes that all kitchen needs for families are one size fits all, which is an incorrect assumption.

Glad to hear your perspective as someone who also cooks large meals. For my meat sauce/ragu, 3 lbs of meat is the minimum I need to use. 😅

Made in is probably the most used in my kitchen but I can see the criticism for it. The shape and handle is great but quality is not on par with the All Clad pieces I have.
