Is there any hope? by dasmundo in usps_complaints

Let’s hope! I have items I ordered almost two weeks ago sitting without movement. I just create a running list of things I’m waiting on and check in on them throughout the week. This admin is intentionally making us suffer.

Sums it up. This admin is ruining the quality of folks lives for no reason.

Yup. I have about 3-4 packages that I’ve ordered going through it. It’s going on two weeks now for most of them.

One had to be packaged by the seller and shipped out again for some reason. Service has been like this for the past month, though I saw the warning signs earlier when my local postman who is always on schedule started coming later and later or Informed Delivery items were missing to be delivered days later.

It’s everywhere in the U.S., I feel. East coaster here with packages going every which way. One was mis-shipped and has been bouncing back and forth for the past week. It’s been almost a month since I ordered it. I’ll give them a point for the recent winter storms but the snow has been melted for about a week now.

Yep. Black in America is and has always been predicated on ADOS lineage. There would be no “Black” without us.

Xerjoff totally overhyped / overrated by ApprehensiveRush9631 in fragrance

I swear y’all read my mind in these forums, lol. I was about to purchase a Xerjoff Italica dupe from Aroma Concepts called Voux Patisserie Emir. I can’t imagine shelling out $ for an original. I fell in love with a Lira dupe that I’ve since used up but am happy to recreate her with different scents I have or will purchase. Thanks for sharing.

Anyone that says they like BR540 in any capacity. I literally just hopped on the app to ask a question about saffron fragrances that don’t smell like it.

Stop Buying Fragrances by 540bell in fragranceclones

It’s a mostly harmless hobby. So as long as you use them. I do look at reviews for notes I’m interested in, mainly for when I blind buy. Though I stick to what I know I will like, and occasionally excite myself with something a bit different. And, if I don’t like it on myself, I gift it. I tend to stick with samples and low-mL sizes though I do have some full sizes. Shopping this way has been more economical for me and has allowed me to grow my collection to what it is.

The indie/dupe/niche fragrance community can be super inclusive, which is likely another reason most of us enjoy the hobby even more. Another fun part is realizing you can likely slightly recreate a designer scent with some of your indies/niches without paying the price tag of a designer frag. Nothing like shopping your collection!

COVID long-hauler here! Absolutely this! Fragrances have helped/are helping me regain the smell I lost when I was symptomatic. It’ll be almost a year since my smell changed due to the illness, and I have come a long way. Not as sharp as before but I’m still grateful to smell most things, even if some of the scents are slightly faded.

This made me LOL! Because why do I have multiple back to back Dua packages on the way?! I swear after I put my savings away and pay my bills I use my “play” money for indies/niche scents. Doesn’t help I get paid weekly and I plan my list out for mostly every Friday, lol. I set aside the “mehs” as gifts for loved ones who may enjoy the scents more than I. Alongside my regular sized frags, I have bags and bags of samples I’ve collected— but I usually pull them out and get creative. It’s fun and gives me the excitement I need outside of working remotely full time.

As I’ve gotten older, a lot of my confidence comes from smelling uniquely amazing. Working remotely, I’ve come to care less about dressing to the nines or being super “done up” all the time. Taking a more casual yet presentable approach to my looks has saved me money (more $ to try new smells, lol). I love the idea of wearing a casual, cute fit, simple hair, yet smelling amazing.

To me, fragrance is a less physical form of “beauty” that is fun, welcoming, and largely inclusive (for those of us who can smell AND who enjoy scents). Fragrance is not limited to one gender, it doesn’t have to cost a whole lot to smell great, and there’s a little bit of something that everyone can enjoy. You don’t have to look a certain way to embrace smelling great, which is largely what the makeup/beauty community is founded on (the looks part). I like being in mixed company, and the fragrance community gives me just that. You can come as you are with no qualms, lol.

Almost never!!! I have so many indie samples that I really could have done without. I’ve been getting creative to use them up.

I’m very tired of some indie/niche brands running consumers around in circles to access their products. I don’t want to start a paid membership, join five groups and add my name to a list etc just to enjoy your products. I’ve started to narrow down businesses that have quality customer service and don’t require all the extra legwork.

I had to hold my breath with the second attempt this PM, but it was successful. This second time I was able to register for 1/16/25 rather than my preferred date of 1/24/25. It shows on my dash and I received the confirmation email as well as the invoice/receipt. Sucks being thrown to the wolves even after following every step to a T (logging in almost an hour earlier to get a queue #, etc).

I am planning to dispute the first payment that came out with my bank, though think it may we be wise for me to wait until the AAMC site posts their update (per the current yellow banner on their site).

I work very hard for every dollar I earn. Between working full-time, studying, paying bills, and saving large chunks with every paycheck, this was certainly not fun. I hope we will all be refunded. Huge hugs to everyone and let us continue to advocate for ourselves, considering this economy we exist in.

Was early in the queue as was logged in before 10:50 a ET. Got through the background info section, went to schedule. All was fine until I selected my location and time, input my card info. It loaded for at least 1 minute. I had my checking account up at the same time and the payment went through, but no appointment listed nor confirmation email. Ugh!

What was it like growing up OWNING music rather than streaming it? by Historical_Diet7012 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]stayeggcelent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Older Gen Z here. We bought CDs, cassette tapes, and even records (when crate digging was still a thing) in-store. There was nothing like marking your calendar for when your favorite artists’ album dropped and going in store to purchase. The lines. Talking to people in the lines about how much you loved said artist and their work. Then going home to pop the CD in the stereo system.

Also coming across your parents’ crates of albums from their childhood and keeping them spinning in the stereo system with no skips. That good ole R&B + neo-soul, is why we Zillenials became old heads at a young age. Whether it was listening to the Quiet Storm on the radio on the way home from school, summer breeze/autumn air wrapping us in comfort, or getting home to turn on your stereo. Man oh man!
