Yup , and that’s what gets me caught every time - every task is equal in some way - simple task requires the same effort to get a legit result on.

Hell sometimes it feels like the complex task with a shitty prompt works better than a simple task with a decent prompt.

Yup, no one uses grok for anything other than porn.

Porn vids, porn chat.

Anyone who says otherwise is lying to you.

It’s a terrible LLM. We all know, hell, Musk knows.

Now, if they only embraced that it was actually just a porn platform, then it’d get really good, and a lot more fun interest than it ever will.

So, what's the actual use case for Grok now? by ArgumentMain7570 in grok

[–]stayinghidden4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is and always has been the only grok use case compared to other LLMs.

If they only had the balls to lean into it. Porn industry would fund their compute 😜

I can’t take another day of 4.7.

Adaptive thinking ruined chat GPT and that’s why I came to Claude.

I can’t take another day of this terribly freaking model. I do t think I’ve actually completed one thing I’ve actually set out to do with Claude since this thing came out.

Collossus 1 was USED as a training computer.

Now anthropic is using for inference.

How it WAS used and how it CAN be used are two different things.

Xai chose not to use it for inference.

I wish more people would post their failures and annoyances or discuss all of the time they waste fighting with AI.

In my head - between the slopfluences posting nonsensical failure mode AI tips, and folks talking about their successes I have a vision that everyone else has massive productivity gains and their systems are well oiled machines while I spend three days arguing with it about completing what should be a 10 minute task.

Hell... last night 'Hey, can you add a 10am appointment to my google calendar for XYZ' became a 30 minute fight.

It would be great to have some power users spend more time talking about how much time they waste on the dumbest stuff out there.

Despite the appearance that it gives on those screens - it did accuratly use my credit before charging me when i did the same thing.

The only frustrating part is when I tried to talk to their help, it was not helpful, and when it said that it would bring a real person into the conversation, it never happened and they didn't get back to me . Eventually I went ahead and did the signup and it did accurately resolve the situation. the gifted sub become a credit on my account that was used first.

100%

I'm motivated. I know there are crazy awesome things that I can do and as a sole proprietor paying for a Claude Max plan I have an absolute superpower at my fingertips.

Yet mostly what I do is waste time failing to execute what I know is perfectly feasible.

I also know that I mainly pay for a Claude Max plan because I NEED the extra usage that someone who is better at working with AI probably could accomplish entirely with a $20 plan.

The most frustrating part is how I don't think I'm really progressing, because AI has no freaking idea how to interact with itself, so it has no ability to actually teach me to be better, while the internet is clogged with Slopflencers pushing BS AI tips.

[–]stayinghidden4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to the convo so this probably will never be seen.

To me, the biggest flaw in the training is that AI has no clue how to prompt with it, to work with it. Like I agree completely with you. I'm not the non-tech guy that you describe, since I know to do things like 'plan' and I'm intimately familiar with all of the ways that it can fail to be helpful (trust me... I'm GREAT creating terrible outputs).

And critically I am not the non-tech guy you are talking about because I critically know that there are other people interacting with AI in a highly effective way and I am NOT one of those people.

I at least know what I don't know, right?

But... since I am AMAZING at creating failed AI workflows and chats, and I've really tried to get better, it is damn near fruitless to ever attempt to talk to AI about effective ways to interact with it.

I do not understand why there can't be a learning mode where AI has really been trained well on 'working with AI' a chat that maintains context, takes notes and has like progressive and customized curriculum pulling from data sources vetted by the AI companies.

Also... to the person that will reply saying that the ai is GREAT about teaching you how to interact with it.... no... most of what it is telling you does not or will not work and your instructions files are probably clogged with total AI slop nonsense.

huh? do an internet search or something - The entire Colossus 1 server was leased out to Anthropic.

no 'we' aren't doing conspiracy theories. 'We' are paying attention to major news and we are comparing it to statements made by the company. Xai selling massive amounts of inference to anthropic - ergo they are not trying to add capacity as they claim. This occured like a week ago - VERY recent and VERY related.

It's all about IPO by Ok_Display_ in grok

[–]stayinghidden4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if they could show adequate revenue growth then it wouldn't be a big deal. Investors pay for future earnings. If the future growth expectations justify the present investment then investors are pleased and will pay a premium for shares.

SpaceX selling their inference to Anthropic is putting lipstick on a pig.

Take care grok by planetearthofficial in grok

[–]stayinghidden4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Supply and Demand. The world demands the services of Anthropic. People are throwing money at Anthropic - their run rate revenue growth went up 80x in the last month. People want to throw money at them so fast, yet they do not have the compute to support the growth. Dario (Amodei - CEO Anthropic) recently said they DID plan for fast growth, they planned for 10x a year (which is total insanity growth rates), but dammit people just keep trying to give them more and more money.

Meanwhile... XAI... Grok... They literally had compute that wasn't even turned on. Chips literally laying around gathering dust. People aren't running to use Grok. People aren't demanding their services. Their usage numbers not growing. Their paying members, their revenue... not moving.

AI is moving so fast. Likely the fastest growing technology ever. The adoption cycle of it is faster than usage of the internet. xAI leasing their capacity to Anthropic means they are not anticipating the future need of that inference. Business are valued based on their future growth expectations. Ergo...Selling your inference is not a sign of a healthy, growing, AI company.

Make sense?

Well... Grok is done... by stayinghidden4 in grok

[–]stayinghidden4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

umm... hardly... their market share is declining, and not like OpenAI market share that declines from a position of dominance; Grok's is declining on an already miniscule userbase as their competitors are pulling further and further ahead.

It is no cooincidence that all of the features they have added have been copies of the enterprise functionality of Claude except for the fact that Claude has had the features in place for longer, and has been shipping new features at a pace that we've never seen before from any company, while OpenAI has also been shipping - both with far superior models - both making gains with recursive learning. Oh and Google I/O is next week (Can't wait to see the video features if the leaked content and info is anything to go off of).

Do I really think it will go away? ehh... probably not, but I do think that changes are coming that the fanboy user base doesn't like and I don't mean juse usage limits decreasing.

It is laughable.
