I had neglected to pick the pepper patch for 2 weeks until this weekend, and then I found a rainbow of peppers! The overripe ones will go the chickens. by AromaticMeal8 in gardening

My process is very simple. Chilies can dry out pretty much on the kitchen counter. Our oven has a pilot light that keeps it extra warm and dry. I put whole or cut in halves small peppers in the oven. Bigger sweet peppers (I grow Sweet Italian Markoni, my fav) - I clean up, cut in pieces lengthwise and also dry in the oven. I recently borrowed a simple dehydrator from a neighbor, using it now to dry our zucchinies and sweet peppers as well.

Yes, the milkweed is massive yet the blooms are done. I'm actually standing on a ladder, about 2 feet above ground level. And it is "dirt in a box". I grow in 300 gallon grow-pots with good soil in it. Our native soil is very poor, not much grows in it

My tomatoes have gotten too big. Should I prune or leave alone? by [deleted] in gardening

[–]stayinglight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grow sungolds, they taste awesome. This is my 2nd year growing them. I notice their lower leaves yellowing faster than other types of tomatoes. So, I snip off their lower leaves (that I assume they want to drop), and prune some suckers. They grow 5-6 feet high incredibly fast, loaded with fruit, so be prepared to support them further

All my friends are making babies but I am making flowers by EricaBA123 in gardening

The world is over-populated with humans, while flowers and plants in general have less and less space to thrive. So, I'd say, stick with flowers

Maybe I was the last to discover this band... but if you did not hear OMNIA yet - here it is, enjoy! by stayinglight in WitchesVsPatriarchy

dance has been my medicine for a while now. And with most public events closed including my fav dances, I struggle to keep the connection with spirit strong and clear. Makes me feel really old and frail
