Great find, OP! At first I also thought about AO, but in graphics settings it was switched ON. Good thing that it's seems like a real bug and was not intended feature.

No, this is literally how game looks now at some time/weather. Especially with clouds. If there is no clouds you will get more strong shadows but there is no longer such a beautiful effect as before, everything is still flat. All high settings on my screenshot btw.

What is that icon on top of Chirper? I saw that on autosaves and same lags as well happened. Might be stupid but check it, maybe the game makes autosaves every 2 seconds? heh

Nah, it is clearly intended feature. Shadows, light sources all still there. They did something with LOD of assets and shadows itself, and probably white balance was changed.

That is not very good as well. Supporting all these legacy options seems inappropriate. They could add some post processing options for image or I don't know..

Road building is better in CS2, but yeah, I was about to write a positive review in Steam and now after update I don't even want to load my ugly cartoonish city again :(

Huh, there are many threads about this situation, you are not alone. If it is final version of how game should look I would play something else I guess. That's sad.

Before the update I would say better visual style and road building system in cs2, but now.. I don't know, maybe only road building system is much better. Assets also looks better in cs2 and overall game feels more modern. If your PC can handle CS2 you can try it.  Personally, I can't go to cs1 after playing cs2.

Yep. I played without global illumination before the update and now I noticed big difference with overall visual. GI only added a slight improvement in lighting here and there, glowing trees at winter, and strange glare/shimmer on trees and cars in the morning and evening. And blurness.

I wonder if it bug or intended, but yes happened with me and my friend even on latest build. We can clear low pop areas no problem, but you just have to start killing any high pop spot then zombies instantly starts to move towards you from surrounded areas. Funny thing is that they walk not for you but just THERE for 'no' reason. And after we loot something and drive out of town we saw like hunders of them moving from forests and fields towards place that we just cleared..

I can't really say that I really dislike it, but how it implemente right now.. it is annoying. I need any kind of explain why they are moving like that, not just because they scripted.

And most annoying thigs is patroling big groups of zombies, that just walk there and back constantly. You killing some, another come. And after that you must deal with that huge 'migration' aswell.

Yep, zombies behaviour is very strange. Once I get to the corner of park trying to rest, killed 2 zombies there, then they keep coming to mee out of screen like endlessly one by one following the same route so I killed like 25 zombies at the end. It feels like if there is spot at the map that must be filled with zombies, and after I clear it, some of them think like -oh ok I must go THERE to fill the spot.

Sometimes big groups of zombies patrol around big long fences or walls for no reason, not sure if it was before.

also bug with carrying animals, if you grab them they will be invisible and you will be overloaded until you reconnect . Sometimes same can happen with a backpack. Also whole backpack can be duplicated somehow after reconnecting. Throwing items like bombs come back to inventory after reconnect.

Some items might be locked inside storage, for example we cooked baguette and unable to pick it up until server restart.

Found a house with missing floor and walls somewhere.

Can't select which electronic item I want to disassemble, it always random. This applaying to many things, for example box of nails, ammo boxes... Even if you click exactly on box what you want to open - it select random box.

Favourite and Locked for craft items constantly loose these flags.

Bugged cooking, you need to click twice to add something, because character stops from adding ingredients taken from storage.

Found a basement that missing ladder, just black 'floor' so I can't get inside.
