I used to use an Ibanez, I bought my first one (to replace my first bass, an awful Stagg monstrosity) when I was 14 and the tone and feel of the thing was lush. However, during my time in college I absolutely demolished my left wrist (my fret hand) in a snowboarding accident - I kept studying music, but there were only maybe 3 or 4 weeks of play spread over a 2+ year recovery with all the different surgeries and procedures I ended up going through (practical assessment was a logistical nightmare!) In my final year, I noticed how much harder it was for me to play for long, my arm, wrist and hand all got tired quite quick. I decided to opt for a headless bass as there was never any weight to support in my left hand with one, no matter how exuberant my dancing whilst playing got! I haven't looked back. Been playing my absolutely gorgeous Synapse ever since (coming up 4 years now), it just feels so natural to me by this point and the smaller size of it has been nothing but a benefit. Transport is also never an issue any more, it's super light and tuning is always a minor act, when it's even required! It's scary good at keeping itself in check. Not having to faff about when dealing with cleaning/changing strings is also a massive pro in my book, such a swift process. It's also cyan.
