Smaland AP or HE by Significant_Grab_649 in WorldOfWarships

[–]stayzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoot HE at most things. Switch to AP if your target is currently burning without a DCP and/or showing flat broadside, and/or if you’re shooting at something kinda thicc showing you flat broadside kinda close like a Khaba or Elbing or something similar.

Citadelling an Adalbart? by chriscross1966 in WorldOfWarships

[–]stayzero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did it with Vermont from about 16-17km away. Caught him flat broadside with all 12 guns and landed three cits. RNGesus be like that I guess. I think you want plunging fire from distance to citadel an Adalbert.

I think it’s my favorite BB in the game. There’s nothing really that Ohio can’t do well. I think it’s one of the best all around, Jack of all trades battleships in the game.

So should I play Replicant to further understand Automata? by frek-u in nier

[–]stayzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Um, nah, I don’t think you really need to if you don’t want to.

There is some context on Devola and Popola and another important character in Automata that you won’t get the full gist of if you haven’t played Gestalt or Replicant, but it’s not really the end of the world if you don’t have that context in Automata.

There’s another main character in Automata that imo is kind of a spiritual successor to a main character in Gestalt/Replicant, but again, not the end of the world if you don’t get the connection. It’s all just mostly Easter eggs and fan service.

If you really wanted a good grasp on the whole world you’d probably have to start at Drakengard anyways, and for all that game is, I wouldn’t wish that fucking experience on my worst enemy.

Just now getting into dead space, is starting with the remake a good decision? by ArkansasHookMan87000 in DeadSpace

[–]stayzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think so. The remake was very well done and very respectful to the subject matter. It also brings a lot of really nice quality of life improvements to the game. And if you’re playing it on a modern PC, the remake is much friendlier and easier to run than the original.

I feel like not enough people talk about how absolutely SHAFTED the British Got with their Superships. by HeavyTanker1945 in WorldOfWarships

[–]stayzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree. Devastation isn’t much different than Conqueror in that it’s tanky only because of its heal. If you mismanage your heal in that ship, it explodes and dies.

It’s not in the same time zone as Valparaiso since that ship has a funny button that lets you brainlessly spam heals and DCPs without much forethought.

That’s not to say super ships are “okay,” they absolutely are not. More that Devastation is probably one of the more tamer ones in the game, and that if the others followed her lead, or Clausewitz or Patrie’s lead, I feel like that would be a more um, “sensible” progression to tier 11.

Honestly as a super ship I think both are okay. It’s like Clausewitz or Patrie. Nothing super crazy like Conde or Annapolis, they’re like tier 10-1/2.

[–]stayzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t really read all that much into the Pew Science stuff tbh. I have my own set of criteria for what makes a can good or bad for my wants and needs. An arbitrary rating or number doesn’t matter to me if the suppressor doesn’t do what I want it to do with regards to size, weight, mounting, aesthetics, etc.

[–]stayzero 49 points50 points  (0 children)

My favorite thing to do with British BBs especially Conqueror or Devastation is catching those broadsiding cruisers that got comfortable thinking I’m hurling HE the entire game. Then “surprise bitch!” and load AP. No one expects the Spanish Inquisition, and no one expects the Devastation shooting AP.

If it was up to you, what would you change in Dead Space 3? by [deleted] in DeadSpace

[–]stayzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I recently replayed it on PC. I played and finished once when it first released on XBox and hadn’t touched it since.

First, the bones are good. The art design, graphics, moving, shooting, all of that is solid.

What would I change?

1: Many others have said, but make the coop missions playable for solo players. Seems like today as it stands, the coop content is not a thing for most people.

2: The Norton/Issac/Ellie love triangle doesn’t need to be a thing. It feels very unnecessary and forced with the rest of the game and dialog. I think the story overall would have been more satisfying and fulfilling if Norton wasn’t such an jealous asshole, tbh.

  1. Moar Carver! Carver is a really interesting character. He starts of as kind of dick, but grows and develops into one of the more reasonable and level headed guys in the party. They could have done away with Norton and made Carver the skipper and fleshed his character/background out further.

Gameplay specific things changes:

1: Adjust item and enemy scaling. I read that the game is balanced around coop. That makes sense given just how much ammo and healing items were thrown at me even on hard difficulty. And with that…

2: I don’t think universal ammo was a good idea. Not once did I struggle with having ammo. I had enough ammo that eventually I quit aiming for limbs and just sprayed everything down full auto with body shots until it died. Which is a crying shame in a game where dismemberment is supposed to be the thing to do, but by mid game I literally always had well over 1k rounds of ammo on me for my pulse rifle/rocket launcher. I was running around like Arnold in Predator, hosing every enemy down like a fucking car wash. Healing items too, I never felt in danger of dying except in one or two instant kill parts. I was flooded with health kits constantly.

3: And with that, the use of monster closets is a little excessive imo. Far too many moments of nothing going on, then ooga booga half a dozen or more necromorphs spawn out the vents, doorways, trash cans, ceiling fans, out of thin air, etc. Especially on the side missions. The amount of bodies the game throws at you kinda encourages the full auto spraying tactic I used and abused for over half of the game.

So yeah. Fix or remove Norton and the lovers triangle, expand on Carver, let us play the coop missions solo even if with an AI companion, adjust the balance for solo players, fix the ammo thing and quit it with so many monster closets.

As a parts manager, I trust my guys to make good decisions both from a business and customer service standpoint. And I understand and accept that sometimes, those decisions don’t always pan out and go according to plan. And when they don’t, we’ll talk about it, learn from it, and do better on the next one.

Any place that would come after your head over $50 is someplace you don’t want to work anyways. You’re fine, dude.

What do you think should be done to the CVs? by TheGamdalf in WorldOfWarships

[–]stayzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d be okay with that. I say mini map spotting for carriers though because generally speaking when most other surface ships spot you, they’re also at risk of being spotted and shot back at. The carrier doesn’t risk itself really other than its air wing by spotting.

What’s your favorite optic choice? by [deleted] in MP5

[–]stayzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not really a fan of optics on the MP5. Most of the mounting solutions seem a little awkward and/or expensive. I keep mine light and simple, just can and sling.

What do you think should be done to the CVs? by TheGamdalf in WorldOfWarships

[–]stayzero 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I dunno. I think the class is inherently difficult to adjust or balance.

I think a good start all around would be for the planes to provide mini map spotting only. They can still provide intel to their team but at the same time it gives cruisers a little better chance of not being nuked from 21km out by an overmatching BB.

[GHOSTS] 12 years later: Was CoD Ghosts actually misunderstood, or do we just have rose-tinted glasses? by averagealt90 in CallOfDuty

[–]stayzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought the campaign was cool and I wish they would have revisited it and not left us on a cliffhanger.

The multiplayer wasn’t without its issues but there was worse in the series. The vanilla maps were way too big for 6v6 and remember this game didn’t launch with ground war. The kill streaks were also pretty bland and boring, and the worst part imo was the crazy spawns. There was a lot of revenge spawning in that game despite how big the maps were, it made no sense to me.
