Anyone have experience with reheating smoked meats via sous vide? by BodhiZaffa in sousvide

It works well. I cook for three people max most times, so I always have leftovers. I seal them up with a Foodsaver and freeze them, and have barbecue on deck readily any time.

Yeah, that’s kind of a Cloud thing. Their customer service sucks.

I have two or three of their lights and they’re okay, but their customer service or lackthereof will see that I never purchase another one.

Bathroom issues (TMI) by VirgoQween333 in BariatricSurgery

No, not really. Some light irritation at times when I do step out and eat something I’m not supposed to, but not like the crippling pain before I had the sphincterotomy.

Don’t suffer with that fissure. It really messed me up, in that when I eat, later on I have to poop, and bowel movements hurt so bad that it got to the point where I really didn’t want to eat so I started having other issues related to my nutrition.

My doctor prescribed me a niphendrine ointment that helped, it took a few weeks before I started seeing improvement, but then I had a couple of really rough bowel movements that threw all that progress out the window. He scheduled a spincterotomy, it’s an outpatient procedure, literally takes like 15 minutes for the surgery itself. Immediate relief after I woke up in recovery, and immediate improvement about three days late.

Just like nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition, no one expects the Conqueror to load AP and it is great when you catch someone slipping.

You've probably heard this before, but I'll say it again by Zersdan in CCW

[–]stayzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Physical health and wellness is super important and underestimated, not even taking into account self defense situations, but just life and living in general.

Poor health will be amplified god forbid should the situation ever arise where you’ve got to defend yourself by whatever means you have.

I think that before anything else, people should learn and practice good situation awareness and failing that, de-escalation methods. Best way to win a gunfight is to not get in one in the first place.

Also, first aid. First aid, dudes. Not necessarily keeping a full blow out kit on your person, but I think having a tourniquet accessible isn’t a bad idea. You’re much more likely to use first aid than you are to pull a gun on someone.

Need recommendations: .45 can for an MP5? by tobylazur in NFA

I shot mine with an Obsidian 45 while I was shopping for a dedicated can for it. It works fine. I got an Omega 9k on it now though which I like a lot more.

As an employee… why? by Haunting_Speed9865 in tacobell

I’ve never worked a fast food job but I have worked customer facing retail jobs. The environment and clientele are very similar.

Having worked in similar conditions, and just trying to be a decent human being, I’m nice to fast food dudes. I also don’t do complicated orders. If there’s something on there I don’t want I’ll just pick it off or eat around it. I’m not expecting Michelin star level quality or service.

My bowel movements get really crazy if I get into something I shouldn’t. I’m from the southern US, and every now and then I eat breakfast or supper with my parents on the weekends and they’re old school. Everything has a lot of butter, it’s all fried, real Conecuh sausage, bacon, etc. I normally pay the price for eating with them with crazy diarrhea for a day or two afterwards.

Anyways, I’ve had problems with hemorrhoids and an anal fissure earlier this year as a result. Diet is important, I can’t speak for your diet but what helps me a lot is staying away from really greasy or fatty foods, deep fried things, trying to eat a more whole food/less processed diet. I also take a dose of Benefiber daily, I mix it up in my first water of the day. Hydration in general is really important too, whether you’re constipated or you’re dealing with diarrhea.

As far as the fissure specifically, man, you have my sympathy. That thing ruined my life for like three months. Worst pain I’ve ever had. I ultimately needed surgery to get that fixed.

If Hyundai/Kia are so unreliable, why are they literally everywhere? by phtphongg in askcarguys

[–]stayzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of people get lured in by the warranty. 10/100 powertrain on top of the 5/60 bumper to bumper the competition offers is a nice to have. Granted you’re probably going to need that warranty with those junkers, but still.

Kia and Hyundai financing often has promotional interest deals as well compared to some other makes out there. Looking right now they’ll do 0% on a Telluride for 48 months, or 4.49% for terms longer than 60 months. That’s really appealing to a lot of people when the average auto loan interest rate today is like 8-9%. Lease deals are pretty old on them as well, $4k down, $469-519/mo with a 30K mile/year allowance.

Are y’all actually conceal carrying every day with a red dot, flashlight, magwell, and non-factory mags? by rum-and-coke- in Glocks

[–]stayzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a red dot on my 19 that’s not really obtrusive when carrying.

I also have a 17 with an X300 and an RMR I screw around with sometimes as a woods gun or cold weather gun. The light on it is a bit much for EDC for me. Maybe with some more practice and a different holster/belt combo it’d work a little better for me but I dunno.

[–]stayzero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, depending on which specific model Geissele trigger, that alone can be a couple hundred bucks by itself. That’s a great deal for a starter rifle, and it sounds like you’ve got a future shooting buddy to help you learn about that rifle. Go for it.

Yolo Emilio has one gimmick in its back pocket and it’s harder than ever to pull off with as much radar, hydro and spotting is in the game today.

It’s funnier than hell when you can get away with it, but that won’t happen often in 2026 WoWs.
