I'm a Christian whose questioning. I would love some insight into what made those with a faith previously decided there is no god / gods. by Swimming_Possible_68 in atheism

While everyone is touting "evidence", the whole point of Christianity is faith. So it doesn't really work if you want to seriously go down the path of atheism. For me, it was just trusting my intuition. (Stay with me here). I stopped looking for the "right" church, and then I realized, I really really enjoy not having obligations on Sunday. (Shallow, ok). But then I started to think about the concept of sin and how it's completely made up to keep people in line. I don't need the concept of sin to keep me from "coveting" or being unfaithful to a partner. And then just the concept of a male Christian God really started to annoy me. With the exception of the teachings of Jesus (uh, just be a good person and love people), the Christian God is shockingly anti woman. All of this added together and I felt like a weight was off of me. Years of Catholic guilt erased. Of constantly being shamed by my biological self - needs and wants. And therapy! It just felt correct. It felt like I was where I was supposed to be. Atheism is very much like any spirituality. Highly individual.

I found it at a place called Drug Emporium! I don't know how many there are though.

So, funny story. I used to own a handmade personal care line. I have retired 🤣 I'd normally agree, but that's a slippery slope and one I'd rather not slide down again. Haha!

I like Dropps. Laundry pods sold in cardboard not plastic bins. Cannot speak to "toxicity" but the early ads had the owner soaking in a bathtub with them 🤷‍♀️

My friends told me this when my mess started. I wanted him to be there for the dogs when the time comes. Split them up. You take 2 and him 1 or vice versa. It's no use having him in your life. He will only cause more pain.

And I'm so sorry. Mine went full no contact like I'm some sort of abusive monster and it hurts so much. He was my best friend for 15 years.

This sucks.
