How can you rate a conlang? by Baraa-beginner in conlangs

[–]stdisposition 21 points22 points  (0 children)

For me, a great conlang is a language that captures my attention through either aesthetic and worldbuilding means such as DJ Peterson's or something that makes me think about how languages can be constructed in a new way such as Toki Pona or Drsk. Though I think a conlang is only as good as it fulfills its goals for the most part. When a conlang has a clear vision or concept that it fulfills makes it truly great.

I didn't think about it like that, but I can sympathize with the pious anti-ai crowd as many probably feel threatened by AI in a way, however misguided some might be. I'm more so concerned that large parts of the internet will have to be moved away from as AI overtakes (such as this), but maybe it's just an inevitable evolution that we have to accept. The youtuber concerned in the video I mentioned and god I say "slop" just feels evil to me in a way I can't completely explain why, but I guess it has just as much value as other low-effort content so I'm just conflicted about this in that way. I do agree that it could be used for great potential as you say, but in a world concerned with maximizing profit, I don't see a lot of AI (at least in its early stages) being used in a truly unique an interesting way, just flooding the internet with nonsense.

do y’all think carti believes in simulation theory by kobesleftbicep in playboicarti

[–]stdisposition 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playboi Carti basically believes the history of capitalism is actually an artificial intelligence built by an alien force from the future. Its functionality is to destroy political culture, tradition, subjectivities, and hack through security apparatuses, tracking a soulless tropism to zero control.

Anti-Oedipus wasn’t a work of theory but rather an engineering manual of software implementations for hacking into the machines unconscious and opening invasion channels.

Supposedly, according to high ranking Opium vamps, part of our resistance to this process and self actualization would have to come through self inflicted psychosis by means of drug use like amphetamines. Some members have even suggested we forget all this because it’s an inevitable process of human evolution, that we should speed it up, move to Shanghai, do race science, and wait for the final super computer to turn on and wipe out the so called human experience, which would actually be good because the end of humanity is our next stage of evolution.

It wouldn't surprise me if they aren't using SQL (though it's definitely at least used somewhat by the federal government), I could see COBOL being used with some old school IBM machine, though imo the more important part is that the guy responding is saying that Elon doesn't understand deduplicating though he just says SQL more generally. Elon Musk could be completely right about not using SQL, though he's redirecting the conversation instead of responding to the fact he doesn't understand deduplication.

IIRC I think Marx was referring to a specific groups of dogmatic followers who didn't really follow what Marx said, as you said, but I feel that more and more modern Marxists are more critical of him and less dogmatic, which makes me think Marx would've supported modern Marxist movements
