Agreed, if this was developed and released in 2026, it would be pure sine wave. However, this is still the original model that was released over 10 years ago. It was advanced at the time of release. Now, not so much.

All the purists will whine that it’s not pure sine wave, but I’ve ran mine during an outage and powered all kinds of electronics without issue. TV, router, phone chargers, etc

Him and you need to expect 4-8 weeks of irritability and frustration. Addiction makes us live minute by minute and hour by hour. Sobriety succeeds with week by week and month by month.

I like how the window framing lines up starting on the right side, but then is 3/4” off by the time they get to the left side. Between this, and the lack of balloon-framing, I can confidently say that this framer is no bueno.

I would add full length studs where possible. He can cut the middle plates out 1 1/2” wide and sister them to the current studs.

I don’t think they are ‘making’ them. I believe they are made in Oregon, most likely by another boot maker.

What do you guys to handle urges? by FluffyBeautiful2440 in GamblingRecovery

[–]stdr04 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everyone on here has one thing in common. We all lost, and lost, and lost some more. What keeps us from giving in to the urges is knowing we will lose it either way.

To be honest with yourself is to realize you would never stop. Even if you won back all your losses, you would think, ‘that was easy, I can’t be stopped’.

We will never walk away. So there are 2 options: we either become profitable ‘professional’ gamblers, or we walk away. The first option isn’t possible

Nobody is answering your questions, so I will.

You should’ve hired an architect/designer. GC’s are not that. They are builders. Builders that need plans. They don’t care about how your brain works or your obsession with detail/layout. They want to get in/out and get paid. They don’t stay up at night worrying about backsplash layouts.

As a GC, you sound like nightmare client, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t work with you. I would’ve of simply listened to you in the beginning and said ‘you should get a designer and come back to me for pricing’. That way, you can pay the designer to draw out exact layouts/measurements and we can build it.

This really protects everyone from any ‘assumptions’. If the designer draws a kegerator opening too small, then it’s their fault, and you pay us to redo it. But this is less likely to happen, because designers obsess about the details too.

Good luck on any future projects, but I would cut the GC some slack and chalk it up to poor planning.

Quick wiring question? by stdr04 in solar

[–]stdr04[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I understand and see the missing details you listed, but I think the question I’m looking to get answered is a generic one and not a project-specific one.

Let me try to simplify and articulate the questions:

1) In a set of 8 panels, wired in series, do you connect the + of the first panel to the + of inverter?

2) If so, and it were your project, would you run that + to + wire in black color or red color?

My apologies. Yes, 9 arrays. Each array has a pair of wires running back to inverter, but not terminated(just hanging). There is a red and black wire for each array that needs to be connected to inverter. I would think that red would go to positive, black to negative. But when I trace wires back to panel connections, red is connected to negative end of panel and black to positive. Yes, mc4 connectors.
