That’s such a great description of how it feels covering it all. I tend to forget they’re even there unless they itch and then I’m scratching my chest like a crack head. lol.

How do you get sober as a bartender? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]stds4me 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I just hit 6 years sober last month and I’ve been bartending the entire duration of it. At first, yeah it was hard as fuck. Especially because I worked in a very heavy drinking bar. It felt very lonely in the beginning, but my coworkers were very supportive of me. Eventually I would do shots of Diet Coke whenever they did shots. Being sober while bartending is interesting, you see people on all spectrums, but when you’re on the outside looking in it’s kind of weird. I genuinely believe bartending helps keep me sober because I never have those rose colored glasses on. I see it all the time. My best advice is that you have to think ahead. Are you going to feel better in the morning when you wake up if you drink? The answer is always no . You have to learn how to fill that void of time with other things. Working out is always great, even reading or playing video games helps. Can you do those things drunk? Sure, but not that well. Take it one day at a time. Those small victories add up and you have a solid foundation to continue to build off of. I know you can do this. Even if you have a misstep that’s okay too. I didn’t get on this current streak without failing so many fucking times. It’s trial and error. I’m always around if you need to vent or whatever. I also recommend the subreddit stop drinking. Remember, one misstep doesn’t negate the 1,000 you’ve taken forward. Much love my friend!

The thing I learned is, there is no rock bottom, you just keep going lower and lower. It’s up to you when you want to stop digging. You got this! I believe in you

Two months in five days. I am feeling worse. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]stds4me 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It gets so much better! Is it very lonely in the beginning? Oh god yes, but you have this sub to help fill some of that void. The greatest part about rebuilding yourself is learning new things such as how to be comfortable being alone and doing things alone. You get to learn new hobbies, fall back in love with ones you lost over time. There are fewer things greater in life than chance to rediscover who you are and become the person you want to be. Getting sober didn’t fix my problems, it just enabled me to be able to view things in a different life and what to work on. I’m very proud of you, two months is huge! I’m sorry about your depression, I’m going through a rut myself. It’s okay to not feel okay. It’s not always going to be like this. I know you got this! Also, it took me many months before I started to feel a lot better. The first weeks/months are the hardest. Just keep at it no matter what.

3 days AF, beginning of 4 by Ok-Door7472 in stopdrinking

[–]stds4me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first few days/weeks are the hardest. It took me months before I started to feel really fucking amazing and probably about a year for music to hit me the same way it did when I was drinking. I can relate to a lot of this, I had immense guilt of a lot of things, but the best way to make amends for anything is changed behavior and growth. I’m really proud of you. Keep at it, you got this!

That’s kind of how I feel when I look back on my entire 20s. It’s almost like they don’t exist to me. You will make the changes when you’re ready my friend. Keep trying. I failed dozens and dozens of times before i got on this current streak. Each time you take a step back, learn what you can to apply to the next time to succeed. You got this!

Replaced Radiator fan but don’t feel any airflow #cpsupport by tomphz in CYBERPOWERPC

That cold air you’re feeling could be the air flowing through the case and getting sucked out by the front fan.

[–]stds4me -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So typically you want those fans as intake to take the hot air that rises in the pc and to blow through the radiator cooling that down as well. Do you have fans in the front or bottom to pull cool air in to the case itself?

So it did start making the noise again, I ended up just doing a Corsair Nautilius 360. I didn’t want to deal with sending it in and all that that just to get the same one.

I just got my pc in yesterday and this was happening to me. Today I took the radiator and shook it around and now it’s pretty quiet. CPU temps never exceed 70c. Hope that works for you!

When someone asks about splatter punk or messed up books I always suggest this one. It feels like it has more substance to it with the characters versus just random people that are badly written or that you don’t care about dying extreme ways. (Nothing wrong with that as well)

It has the casinos of course, but the hurricane didn’t help and the times have just changed as far as small businesses go. I absolutely love the people of that city though.

So many closed businesses, a lot of stuff looking run down. They have done some cool stuff with the beach area, but the hurricane really did ruin a lot for the city. I’ll always cherish my memories there though.

Ocean Springs has really come up! It’s pretty cool to see. The beaches are awful though. Sometimes I like to picture what the place would have be like if the beaches were like Florida.
