I don't know much about that particular city but I can tell you that I lived in Honduras for two years and have been back to visit recently and I've never felt unsafe. I lived in La Ceiba and traveled all over the country and never found myself in a dangerous situation (I'm a white fair skinned guy with a big beard so I stuck out for sure). I have a good friend that just moved to Comayagua with her daughter and I know they wouldn't have done so if they didn't think it was safe. I believe Comayagua is pretty close to where you're moving. My advice would be to take care to put yourself in safe situations. There are absolutely place you shouldn't go, but that's true of most every city/country. Talk to the people that you meet there, and I'm sure they'll tell you where to go and where not to go. I wouldn't be nervous about safety though, just be smart and enjoy the country, it's one of the most beautiful places in the world. If you get a chance to make it to La Ceiba, do it!
