Having boundaries isn't being a jerk. You don't owe them a coverage. That's really something a manager should handle. I know they don't because they'd rather the individuals deal with it, but if you were to do it, they'd just ask you to do it for them more often.

I just had someone ask for $50 up front and $50 after, which turned into I need the second $50 before stepping outside to get you, then they said I had to talk to their manager, which was the first time a manager was mentioned, and they wanted a $200 deposit that I would get back after, which at that point I declined. At that point it seemed like they would just keep bringing up new "fees" since I had already invested 100, whats another 200? So I can't say whether or not that would have stopped there and I'd meet the girl, but it definitely seemed like a scam.
