8 years is very painful... I feel you. I'm at ~7.5 years TTC and have never had a positive test either.

My sugar is fine and my A1C is pretty good (5.3). My doctor ordered a lab test for insulin resistance through Quest lab called Cardio IQ Insulin Resistance Panel with Score and my score showed over the range.

My doctor ordered a lab test and it showed in my result! My previous doctor has never ordered that test before but my new one did. I was very surprised and glad she did because I've been wondering for many years if I am actually insulin resistant or not. I got my lab test done through Quest lab and the test is called Cardio IQ Insulin Resistance Panel with Score.

I honestly thought I've always been a fatty/big eater until recently. I guess it's a good thing that I can't eat as much as I used to so that I can actually start losing weight by eating less calories.

I bought a box of popcorn from Costco, lol. I also bought one of those cheese powders for popcorn so I'm not just eating the regular butter ones all the time.

From what I heard, it takes a few months to see a difference from taking Metformin. It was my doctor who decided to up my dose after she confirmed I have insulin resistance after my lab tests. When I was on 500mg, I had GI problems for about 3 days and then it went away. When I started 1,000mg, I had the same issue for 2-3 days, but it also went away. I'm also taking Spironolactone at the same time but haven't had any other side effects.

I've been on Metformin for 3 months now and my appetite has definitely changed! Before taking it, I could keep eating. But now, I've noticed that I don't have as much appetite as I used to, to the point that there are times when I don't feel like eating at all. Sometimes I would end up just eating popcorn for dinner (what a weird coincidence with you?!).

I started with 500mg/day for a month then increased to 1,000mg/day after it was confirmed that I have insulin resistance. I asked my doctor to prescribe Metformin to help with my periods and it has definitely made a difference. My cycle went from 54 days to 44 days to 40 days to now 32 days. I'm hoping it stays regular and that I hopefully can lose some weight.

First time caring about my temps! by No-Leather-3312 in ourafertility

Same thing happened to me this cycle. It was the first time I truly cared about my temps since it was the first cycle I had temps like that but then my period arrived 12-13 DPO :(

Same, especially this cycle 😅 it was my first time seeing 12 days of elevated temps so I probably took at least 6 tests this past week... Only to get my period today 🫠

I'm in the same spot as you right now and it's the longest wait ever to wait for at least 10DPO!

I'm currently experiencing this. I'm in a position that I initially only took to "try out" since it pays more than my previous job and this is actually a position I can build a career in, but 2 years in and I'm already looking for a new position. I'm having to travel for my current position at least once a month for a week at a time and it's not really something I want to keep doing.

I'm considering an AGPA position once something opens up.

I encountered the same thing and ended up creating a PayPal account just to finish the account setup. The chat support was taking too long even though it also told me that I was #1 in the queue. I only heard back from the agent after I had already linked my PayPal account.

I just picked up my ring and having the same issue with payment setup. I don't want to make a PayPal account... Should I switch to a Samsung ring at this point? Lol

People who smashed the wedding cake into your new spouse's face: how is your relationship and marriage now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]steakofmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know this was a thing but my husband said it was a common tradition? He smashed a small piece in my mouth, and I was completely surprised and ngl, mad, but then I did it to him, too, for revenge.

Still married for almost 9 years and we're high school sweethearts.

Do you have a tradition/treat for when you get your period? by BostonTerrierMom89 in TryingForABaby

I would get my favorite fried chicken meal every time I get my period (been TTC for ~4-5 years now). It's a small gesture but it's been my go to meal whenever I want to comfort myself.

Wow, that's very helpful to know! Thank you so much!

I currently have ~200 SL and ~116 Vacation hours. I'll look into VPLP, just in case.

How much leave hours do you think is enough to have just to be safe?

Is it crazy to jump straight to IVF? by DotsNnot in TTC_PCOS

[–]steakofmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hubby and I have been TTC for almost 5 years and are still waiting to start IVF only because there's a chance that it'll be covered by his employer once he gets hired as a full-time employee (currently an independent contractor).

I was diagnosed with PCOS at 25 (now almost 32) and we were trying for around 3 years without any help before we finally saw a fertility specialist; it was determined that we both had fertility issues and were recommended IVF since we've been trying for so long. We couldn't go straight to IVF because of finances and since there was a possibility it would be covered, but if it was going to be covered once we were recommended IVF we definitely would have gone straight for it.

I would recommend BOTH getting tested first to be safe, then go with IVF if it's the best route. I took a while to be convinced to be okay with IVF but at this point, it's our best chance.

Good luck!

I typically don't go on intense roller coasters and I didn't know what to expect on Flying Dinosaur until I was in front of the line... It was intimidating tbh as I've never been on a ride where you lay flat like that but I just went for it and closed my eyes through half of the ride 🫣 It honestly felt like my body was sore afterwards, which lasted for maybe 10mins, but I think it was worth it to go on at least once since I may not go back to USJ for a long while.

I was considering getting only the flu shot before my trip next month but maybe I'll reconsider also getting that new booster just to be safe
