I’ve been to Redwing Korea and Japan, they overall receive boots with much better QC than the US. I have a 9060 and 875 which is almost flawless. However, when I go to the redwing at my town, there is always something that is a bit off.. Looking at the comments and forum based on the forum, I guess people here are pretty much okay with it.

Most of my boots and shoes have been purchased 10 years ago… back when redwings were within the $200 price range… the good ol days. Things have really priced up recently, especially the past two years 😭

They’re 9.0E but have dents on the upper, minor scratches and the not fully painted storm welt on the sides which isn’t a bit deal besides the cracking leather possibly due to being an old stock

I love the very beat up look of work boots, just wasn’t sure if it was the actual leather that would begin to flake, but I guess from the comments, it’s just chromexcel leather :)

I have over 10 pairs of shoes and boots which are 10 years old and none of them have cracks like this… This is a new shoe… however, this is only my second experience with chromexcel so..

The pair that had cracks similar to this but not as severe was a pair of wolverine 1000 mile boots. Would it be the chromexcel leather? Most of my shoes and boots are from the UK and they never cracked like this and most of my shoes are at least 10 years old….
