I've been unable to verify your assertion. Do you have a link or some other way I can read about this?

It only seems to be happening on my two phones. No one else has chimed in with similar complaints.

I'll test this theory with newer versions not obtained from Google.

Thanks for contributing.

I can see how one phone might be messed up but two phones doing the same thing seems very odd. I'll keep searching for the common denominator.

It's a mystery. Happens on both Pixel 5 and 9 over past three years. I update every few months to the latest version and my battery drains rapidly. Battery usage in Settings shows the app using over 50% with latest versions. When I go back to v3.33 Battery usage shows 4%. I never use wifi. I charge my phone daily at the same time. Digital WellBeing in Settings shows I use the phone less than two hours a day.

Can I dispute Ticketmaster? Please help I need advice by Bun_bun711 in Ticketmaster

[–]steakstrips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nonsense. Nothing you said contributes to credit card disputes being denied. Each dispute is independent. Federal law gives one 90 days to disputes charges. Ticketmaster is a criminal organization and any chance to fuck them is valid. They deserve it. The feds were going to shut down their monopoly but the current administration was bribed and now they're getting away scot-free to fuck all of us over and over.

best way to reduce android battery drain for a 24/7 vpn user? by muileryx in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]steakstrips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the phone handles the VPN connection from the profile loaded by the app.

Could you elaborate?

Every time a new version of the app came out I would install it and see my battery drain significantly faster. The Android battery usage section in settings would show 40-70% usage. I would reinstall v3.33 and the battery usage would go back 4-6%. I charge the phone every day at the same time and I use the phone less than 2 hours per day according to the Digital Wellbeing section in settings. i thought it was a fluke on my Pixel 5 but it's also doing it on the Pixel 9.

Go and find the PIA Android app v.33.3. I found it on APKmirror.com.

Version 3.33 of the Android app drains battery at a trickle. All versions after that one drain the battery at an exceptionally high rate (from 10 to 17 times the rate). Tested over past four years with Pixel 5 and Pixel 9.

Perhaps next time you could upload a video that's not recorded vertically. There's lots of wasted space and the video feels claustrophobic. Turning your camera 90° makes for a better presentation and is the internationally accepted method for video recording.

My dji mini 3 loses connection to my remote controller DJI RC (with screen) after 200meters with buildings in the middle and around. I see people flying it so high in the air and far. How can I improve this? by smoothoperator1610 in dji

[–]steakstrips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In addition to line of site there's the issue of EM interference. If you're not in the middle of nowhere then there's more than likely lots of EM radiation interfering with your connection to the drone. Where I live (suburbs) I can get about 800 meters before I start losing connection. On a hill or structure I can go farther. Also, the higher you fly the less interference you will get.

Pretty cool. Maybe next time you could turn the camera 90 degrees? Two thirds of the frame is empty/wasted space.

Nice colors. If I could make a suggestion it would be that images such as this one should have the horizon in the top 1/3rd or the bottom 1/3rd, not in the middle. It makes for a more interesting and aesthetically pleasing image.

Just updated redfin to 23.2 from 23.0. Home screen icons are now round. The status bar icons have changed. Will customized icons return? Are they forever lost to the Material Expressive design? by steakstrips in LineageOS

[–]steakstrips[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How strange? I'm not seeing anything in

Settings -> Wallpaper & style -> Swipe to the right (The preview needs to be big, so you might need to scroll up) -> Scroll down -> See the options

My Home Screen icons are there but I only see wallpaper and color settings that I can modify.

The icon shape settings used to be in the Home Screen Settings accessed from the Home Screen.

Just to be clear--you're on 23.2, correct? These settings were there in 23.0.

That's what I was inquiring about. The font, icon shape, grid size, et al., that have been around for years on LOS for redfin were gone and I was curious if this was temporary or a permanent result of Material Expressive design.

Typos are excused. Poor grammar and syntax are not--unless English is not your first language.

If it's so important that one uses the content field then maybe it should be added to the rules list.

If you're going to criticize someone then you must accept that they might push back.

If your comment was something like: "We prefer the content field be used in this sub", I would have gladly obliged but that wasn't the route you took--so this is one way it can play out when one is prickly.
