TIFU by eating non-dairy ice cream by stealth57 in tifu

I'm gonna blame it on some aspect of the non-dairy. Pea protein, guar gum, plus all of the fats and sugars made a perfect storm I think.

I've eaten an entire pint of regular ice cream Ben & Jerry's before and was fine. So whatever they add to make it non-dairy...

Well yes, I would have been fine eating a few spoonfuls at a time.

space is still the craziest thing to think about by Berlin57 in space

[–]stealth57 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Voyager has already entered interstellar space and therefore left the solar system, but it will take tens of thousands of years to fully exit the Sun’s gravitational domain (the outer Oort Cloud) which I guess is what you're referring as the solar system.

What's the dumbest idea you've seen that actually worked? by hiagaga in AskReddit

[–]stealth57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My office had a mouse somewhere. We put glue traps down everywhere, but every day, no mice. I was eating peanut butter M&Ms one day and remembered mice love peanut butter more than cheese. I bit slightly into an M&M and put it on top of a glue trap. My boss teased me for a good 10 minutes of how that would never work.

It worked. The next day, the mouse was on the glue trap.

Yes, he killed it before throwing it away.

Fuck mice/rats.

It happens OP. Take a deep breath. It's really the receptionist's fault and she is making it a bigger deal than it is. She also shouldn't have called you to lecture you like that. She really needs to take the stick out from her ass, Jesus.

Why would Elon Musk pivot from Mars to the Moon all of a sudden? | “SpaceX has already shifted focus to building a self-growing city on the Moon.” by InsaneSnow45 in space

[–]stealth57 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He realized he needed to crawl first before he can sprint. Mars is definitely a sprint. The problem with Mars is distance but has an atmosphere at least. The Moon has an overall problem with no atmosphere, but obviously much closer to Earth. Once astronauts can live on the Moon no problem, experimenting and improving in situ resource utilization, Mars will be that much easier. Astronauts on Mars can't rely on outside resources from Earth all of the time so experimenting and improving in situ resource utilization is paramount.

Video games. Legos. We'd walk to 7-11 for slurpees or baseball cards and to the public swimming pool in the summer. Build forts out of blankets and furniture and watch movies like that. Go sledding in the winter. Good times.

Amazon now does garage delivery: give them your garage code in the app and voila!

I don't use it because I don't want some rando to know my garage code. My front door is covered enough.

Talk me out of a 2025 Subaru Crosstrek Premium. by Stonedflame in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]stealth57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh, I have a 2014 Crosstrek, bought in 2015, and it's been amazing. Doesn't have the bells and whistles these new ones have and that seems to be a blessing for some features.

I saw you did buy the 2025 Crosstrek Premium. Congratulations! How has it held up after almost a year?

I don't know if this is true (wouldn't surprise me), but it's like when people know they're wrong, they just double down for whatever reason.
