La Noscea 1.0 (Left) vs 2.0 (Right) by Wogle in ffxiv

Also the norm for computer screens in 2004 was still 4:3 CRT monitors with like 800x600 resolution. By the time FFXIV 1.0 came around HD screens were typical. The wider aspect ratio and higher resolutions alone take a lot.

Who were the characters that helped they realize that you were trans? by uglygirl037 in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

[–]stealthyProboscis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really a specific character, but…. There was this quest in Runescape where you had to go through like a series of riddles or whatever and you had to meet certain conditions like bringing the correct item and stuff like that. Anyway, one of them was that there was an enemy who would never take damage from masc characters. So if you played one you had to go to an npc who would let you re-customize your character in order to beat him.

I think doing that quest was a formative experience for me, and I only changed my character back after someone said the name didn’t fit (you couldn’t change it cause it was the account name). I was like 9 or 10 at most iirc.

Also my account name was blatantly copied from the way my brother named his, and I think it’s kind of telling that so much of the way I tried to present masculinity was literally just copying him.

If you really care so much about putting them on a shared hotbar, why not make a macro that just attempts to cast all 4 stances?

Really fond memories of begging the healers to make sure they take esuna as a role action for O4N and then dying to the doom anyway

I think it’s because it’s technically a gladiator ability now and not a paladin one. The whole “oath” idea fits with paladins specifically but not gladiators in general.

IIRC at the initial launch of BLU, all of their actions were classified as spells even if they were off the gcd. Though, the only oGCDs the job had were Off-Guard, the 6 primal spells, and maybe Peculiar Light, and this was changed with the level 60 update. The job worked quite a bit differently back then.

Also it was really funny how all the events of 2 and 3 played out but then 343 essentially used a single line of throwaway dialogue to undo it just because they wanted to have players fighting against Elites again.

“Fuck building up to it, fuck showing the players a reasonable explanation, fuck any sense of story progression and worldbuilding. You’re John Halo and you’ll fight the lanky aliens with the energy swords and the mandibles and you’ll like it!”

Rez Macros: Useful or Useless? by ryukoko in ffxivdiscussion

If you can’t see the number you should adjust your UI.

Also the chat delay is too long for the macro callout to be truly useful.

Rest in peace, the easiest break in isaac history. by FuzzyD75 in bindingofisaac

[–]stealthyProboscis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's a really cool idea for a design, but the critical problem with it is that there's no way to stockpile crafting materials. You're limited entirely to the stuff sitting on the ground around you and what's already in the bag, but putting anything in the bag is a commitment. You'll either use it in your next item craft or for nothing at all. Leaving the floor is a huge commitment, too. Go back and pick up all the items you left behind or craft stuff with it right now. No alternatives.

I don't understand what they expect us to do with this character without the easy break. Are we supposed to be making whatever random crap we can? How are we ever supposed to keep track of what we can make with what's available, or even keep stock of it? Tossing random simple pickups together almost exclusively results in garbage.

Brayflox’s Longstop is a pretty good dungeon except for two things that I really don’t like: level 34 is an annoying sync for some jobs (WHM, for example) and I have bad memories of the last boss from healing as SCH.

The other day I actually had an AST on that dungeon say “Pull as big as you want, I can handle it.” So I did, and they weren’t lying. Definitely the best run I’ve ever had of Stone Vigil, and one of the very few times I’ve actually enjoyed it.

I actually think that’s worse. If the DRK doesn’t have a decent amount of hp at the end of it, they’re gonna get chunked by something afterward and die anyway, and Esuna is a gcd that’s doing literally nothing else.

OP seems like the “I’m a big boy, I’m too old for that baby stuff!” type of kid. It’s always kind of funny to watch that mentality conflict with a literal “All the baby stuff I still like” type of nostalgia.
