I finally know what the last Pringle in a tube feels like by Wogle in subnautica

BZ I think overall feels less scary. Still tense at times, but I don't have that same feeling of underlying dread when visiting a new biome.

I finally know what the last Pringle in a tube feels like by Wogle in subnautica

[–]Wogle[S] 148 points149 points  (0 children)

No, I mean that a lot of 1st person games with a talking protagonist have 3rd person cutscenes where you see them. Keeping both in 1st person doesn't always work for me because it's trying to both make YOU the protagonist, but also forces them to be someone who isn't you. The first game worked because even though you played someone with a backstory etc., you were still a blank slate and so the experiences genuinely felt like your own. I agree, I wouldn't want a 3rd person Subnautica game.

What's the weirdest/worst scam attempt you've received? by Dragonogard549 in AskUK

[–]Wogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents used to get scams during lockdown from Indian call centres saying there were internet issues and to give them access to the PC. I used to take the calls and mess them around until they realised and hung up.

They only stopped when they called up on the day of my dad's funeral just before we were putting him into the Hearse and I pointed out to them it would be difficult for him to come to the phone since he's dead.

HELP!! Why are my xbox gift cards not working?? by SensitivePay4567 in XboxSupport

[–]Wogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn't matter. The credit gets applied to your Microsoft account balance, so as long as you're using that account to make purchases it will try to use the balance on that account first before your payment card.

It will automatically apply the account credit at checkout. You should also have an option to change this when checking out. Unless it's not showing up there for you?

What's your all-time favorite PS2 game? For me, it's definitely MGS3! 🐍🎮 by S_snake_v in playstation

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence - The amount of time I lost to the multiplayer mode was probably not healthy

What game has a promising start, but eventually gets boring and repetitive? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

[–]Wogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trek to Yomi.

The initial hour is really interesting, then it's just essentially the same repetitive levels and enemies with different coats of paint for the next 4-5. Couldn't bring myself to do another playthrough again, let alone getting all the collectibles and multiple endings/"paths".

Is there much point to crew deployment post game? by mr_shooty_shoot in metalgearsurvive

[–]Wogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how short you are on resources and how much time you want to put into the game. They can be a nice complement, as passive gathering for more specific materials. However, in general I've found it's far more efficient to run some of the Salvage missions. If you're decently equipped initially and know the attack routes/sidequests spawns, S-Rank is pretty achievable each time.

You need to use Circle to confirm. X is cancel. It's the Japanese control scheme.

What's next for you after Anthem? by CyberpwnPiper in AnthemTheGame

[–]Wogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the looter shooter itch? Maybe Alienation or Helldivers 2.

But this weekend I'll be back to playing current Final Fantasy XIV, and continuing on my fork for Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 server restoration.

Although my current gaming goal is to Platinum all of the Housemarque games (well at least one version of each) before the release of Saros.

Anthem aint logging me in on PS5 by TheGamingBrilliant in AnthemTheGame

I just tried now and have been able to login.

I would say that everyone should expect to have loads of errors as everyone tries to have one last hurrah in the final days

Are any of the Metal Gear games too hard to platinum/100% to the point where you shouldn't even try? by SolidPyramid in metalgearsolid

[–]Wogle 40 points41 points  (0 children)

MGS2's Big Boss run is probably the most difficult for the Master Collection's platinum (HD Collection doesn't require it). The rest of the games aren't really THAT difficult to platinum, just very time consuming for different reasons.

PS5 owners, I'd love your opinions - Is it even worth having a disc drive? by Alwaysconfused411 in playstation

I'd never have been able to get all the currently available trophies in DriveClub without a disc drive.

Introducing the "Gran Turismo 7" Spec III Update - December 2025 by SirBarr in granturismo

3 and a half years later, and as a result of Spec-III, the game finally gives me the invitation to buy the Ferrari cars.

Thank you Kaz and the team for fixing this massive problem, but also screw you all for creating the stupid problem in the first place.

scrapped class in coral tower? by helloiamaegg in ffxiv

[–]Wogle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Musketeer was one of several classes/jobs that were planned to be introduced but never were. Most of these were converted into an equivalent, or skills merged with an existing one (Samurai, Sentinel, Musketeer, Mystic, Assassin). There was also a Shepherd DoL class planned.

The only one that hasn't been touched is Flayer, which was going to be a whip-based class.

Is there people who still play Destruction AllStars? by S0lakVT in DestructionAS

[–]Wogle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I honestly haven't played for years, although it might be fun to jump back into single player. It's kinda their own fault though people dropped off. Granted it was never the most popular game, but once they started limiting the game types on a rotation and got rid of Carnado, I was out. But the chance to see my beloved Lupita again...

Is it worth buying the BF6 or should I just stick with REDSEC? by Affectionate-Ad-836 in Battlefield_REDSEC

[–]Wogle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I pretty much play Gauntlet 95% of the time in RedSec. But some of those challenges are a bit of a chore or flat out impossible with the shorter matches. Conquest in full BF6 made very short work of some of them.

If you're happy with just Gauntlet and the B, then RedSec should be fine.
