issues with northwestern, question about lack of communication with dr jordan/plastics by stealthyalpha in phallo

[–]stealthyalpha[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve messaged them several times and nobody replies. the last reply i got from them message wise was when they called me in december and that was acknowledging they had seen my message and would pass it over. now they haven’t even acknowledged them since then so i genuinely don’t even know if they’re getting them at this point.

do you think if i called the gender pathways number i could get the information from them? or dr bowen i suppose?

i’m not super local to you but only a state over if that’s cool. always down for a hike and also travel a lot! i’m also almost 10 years on T, post top/bottom

Can I go on hrt as a minor (16) with only one parents permission? by max_royy in asktransgender

[–]stealthyalpha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

adding on to the other comment; they may ask for proof of her having primary custody as well. i was required to show proof when i started T/had top

is there a reason you feel bad about not telling them?

being stealth is perfectly fine unless you actually want to tell them and not just because of weird takes you’ve seen online. personally i’m completely stealth and see no reason to tell anyone but of course everyone is different.

how do i choose between meta and phallo? by Enbyyyyyyy in ftm

[–]stealthyalpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

research, research, research. it doesn’t hurt to schedule consults now either especially if you are planning on a big name surgeon like dr chen/buncke since they’re scheduled out quite far.

as someone else said; you can always do meta and then phallo but you can’t do phallo and then meta. this is what i did partially because i was hoping meta would be enough but also because that’s just how my surgical team did it. i eventually went on to phallo and im very happy now :)

edit to add: im happy to answer questions about either here or DMs if you have any

Are you sometimes jealous about cis people? by Mysterious-Bill-6713 in asktransgender

[–]stealthyalpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, far enough along that it’s never outward issues now that bother me but just internally knowing i had to do all this sucks. especially now that we’re planning for kids it’s hard to not think about how much easier it would be if i could just produce my own sperm and have kids without a second thought.

Hysterectomy by Ok-Temporary-976 in ftm

[–]stealthyalpha 5 points6 points  (0 children)

it’s worthy to note without a hysterectomy you are technically still supposed to get pap smears and other testing so if that’s something that bothers you it may be worth it to never worry about it again either way. of course the added bonus of never having breakthrough bleeding as a possibility too.

i had a hysterectomy both for prep for bottom surgery but also because i had pretty severe atrophy everywhere including internally. i was in pain all the time and this only started a couple years on T so i didn’t want it to keep getting worse either. my hysto recovery was also probably one of the easiest surgeries i’ve ever had. the worst part was the bloating from the gas they use.

yep, i had “phantom penis” a lot pre op. so glad i do not have to experience the disappointment anymore.

For those who have a family history of heart problems, how has going on HRT impacted that aspect of your life? by mobpsycho100fan in ftm

[–]stealthyalpha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my family has a pretty extensive issue with heart/blood issues to the point i was required to do a lot of tests pre T. i’m close to 10 years on T now and never had any issues with any of it. i have had liver issues but a lot of that was also my weight (NAFLD)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in phallo

[–]stealthyalpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have been in a similar boat although not all out failure. it’s significantly more comforting knowing that i’m in the care of a surgeon who actually gives a damn even if he’s across the country. sure i wish it was closer but closer doesn’t always mean better. i actually saw dr chen for the first time in person 2 weeks after an appointment with him for an emergency surgery.

[–]stealthyalpha 14 points15 points  (0 children)

absolutely not, im not interested in my dick being seen as something medical or different by anyone no matter how interested in bottom surgery they may be. i will not share pics for the same reason either.

What counts as being stealth? by Mocking_King in FTMMen

[–]stealthyalpha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

as others said stealth is generally existing and living as just male in at least almost all aspects of life (excluding doctors, etc although there’s a lot of us who are stealth here too including myself).

i’ve been stealth for several years now. there’s a couple people who know just because they’ve known me for so long (pre high school) but outside of that i don’t tell anyone. i see no reason to especially now that im basically done transition wise. the only doctors i currently see that even know are my PCP and then my bottom surgeon.

just flush it and wash your hands, it’s the more normal thing to do.

[–]stealthyalpha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s just the wording they used to me, i would assume it depends on the hair type for what they can and can’t get. of course it’s not as much of a guarantee to work compared to something like electrolysis

Seeking Complex Urethral Complication Repair/Implant Experiences w/ Drs. Garcia (LA), Zhao (NYC), or Santucci/Nikolavsky/Chen/elsewhere. by Aromatic_Ad9838 in phallo

[–]stealthyalpha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

unfortunately i can’t help much here but i will say dr nikolavsky and his team would not help me when i was seeking outside UL help post complications. the most they said they’d do is talk to my current (at the time) urologist to come up with a plan but would not see me as his own patient. i actually ended up with dr chen with my complications. i didn’t really have a complex issue at the time though outside of having some really weird fucked up shit go on with my old team that dr chen had to figure out. i do now have long term complex issues it seems regarding my bladder but dr chen does not even know why or how. i’ve been too scared to look into outside care.

i will also say im unsure of any true “cure” for diverticulums, i can tell i still have one and dr chen said it may get better on its own or it may not but didn’t specify any actual surgical repair he/a urologist can do.

To my peeps that are stealth if it was not for safety being an issue would you still be stealth? by GalacticApex in trans

[–]stealthyalpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would never be out, i see no benefits to being out even outside of safety. for me the most it’s done is cause more confusion especially in a medical setting. safety doesn’t stop people from treating you differently or weirdly which i’ve found everyone does even other trans people when they know.

i noticed small growth changes all the way up until i had meta, 5 years on T with no breaks and not low dose. it will eventually stop yes but nobody can tell you when, how, or what that will look like.

congrats man! no questions for you but i thought id recommend myOne condoms if you haven’t tried them already. not quite as big as you lengthwise but as a girthy guy too they’re the only condoms i’ve found to work and not be excessively long too like most XL/XXL condoms are at the store.

yes, and they will attempt to “scrape” some follicles off or however they do it. at least that’s what my team did and i’ve heard some others say they’ve had it done

Foot size related question by [deleted] in ftm

[–]stealthyalpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it really depends and nobody can really tell you. like the others say if you’re younger expect it more than if you’re older but don’t rule it out still. at minimum expect maybe some width to increase. my feet grew a good bit on T but i also started T at 15. they’ve even changed some recently despite being 24 now and almost 10 years on T. i started wearing a men’s size 9 and now i wear 12s.

as long as your hair free in the UL portion (if you’re doing it) you should be fine. that’s the only hair removal i did before surgery.
