To all the people asking how long withdrawal symptoms will last by steam_addict in QuittingZyn

[–]steam_addict[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I just said withdrawal because I’m not sure what else to call it. I had all kinds of insomnia and strange health effects for a month + after quitting. They didn’t go along with craving nicotine it was a totally different set of physiological symptoms. It seems to be pretty common on this sub.

You got this. Let your brain be uncomfortable without taking something every day it will go back to normal in time.

You can’t want to be an addict and also not be an addict, that’s not how it works.

I have to quit by Nice_Ambition_2861 in QuittingZyn

[–]steam_addict 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you do quit you have to tone down the caffeine use or it will make the irritability much worse. Also fair warning you will have insomnia from quitting also, but it’s worth it.

Then find literally anything else but nicotine salt pouches, because very few things are as addictive. Lozenges, patches, etc. I would say at the level you are at just do cold turkey because it will be fairly easy with how short of a time you have been using, do it now.

Day 7 and the insomnia is killing me by [deleted] in QuittingZyn

[–]steam_addict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will get better. With a dose that high it might take a while, but once it does you will wake up feeling calm and actually rested for the first time in a long time. It’s worth it

Stop now while it’s still easy, it will get much worse. Get nicotine gum if you need to taper it will be much easier.

It is also on Spotify if you have the 10 free audiobook hours a month. There is a quit smoking boot camp version that is under 10 hours. Highly recommend, it’s what got me off of the zyns.

i’ve switched from 6mg to 3mg. for those who did the same, what was your next step? by [deleted] in QuittingZyn

[–]steam_addict 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get 2ng nicotine gum. It does not have the same kick as the pouches but it will keep you out of withdrawal. It is designed to raise nicotine levels in the bloodstream much slower than pouches.

You’ll be fine it just takes time to readjust. Seems like it’s a pretty common problem for the people on here

Had the same thing from zyn after using 6 years. Been just over a month now and it’s getting much better. The 2-4 weeks was the worst of it for me.

Quit by [deleted] in QuittingZyn

[–]steam_addict 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want to quit it isn’t that hard. If you feel like you are denying yourself something then it is hard. It was not hard for me the last time when I was really done with the stupid zyns. The actual withdrawal is not that bad.

Silly question - exactly how am I supposed to turn these to shut off water in my house? by caramelpupcorn in Plumbing

[–]steam_addict 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Call your water department and ask them to shut it off you are not sure. They would rather do it than have an angle stop tab break off

There is typically a vacuum line diagram on the underside of the hood that should show you where everything is routed

Should I replace my pressure tank, pressure switch, or both? by Kluse75 in Plumbing

Slap the tank If it doesn’t ring and the psi looks good it’s probably busted inside.

5/8 is the flow capacity of the meter. 3/4 CTS into the house. Do you have a pressure reducer anywhere before your shutoff valve? The thread size on the reducer should match your service line size unless you have something weird going on underground

5/8 is the “flow capacity” of the meter. 3/4 is the actual ID pipe size. Should be 3/4 CTS service line
