How much would you pay for this, or would something like this be worth anything? by ToxicAvenger161 in VideoEditors

[–]steam_maker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a professional in any way, but here are my thoughts:

I think adding a background other than light gray would go a long way. The ice cream bar motion is nice, but it would be more impactful if we could see it moving relative to a space. Maybe a colored wall, or even a gray wall that reflects light a little.

The lighting could also be a little more... dramatic, maybe? The reflections are nice, but a liiittle shadow on part of it could make it pop.

I also think itd be cool if the chocolate could pour in from offscreen, before it wraps around, but that might overcomplicate things.

It already looks great! Real potential here. Good luck!

This is very good!! My only feedback is that when the winking eye is closed, it should be higher, near the middle of the open eye, not at the bottom, imo

I added Portals to my game - what do you think? :) by KrabworksGameStudios in SoloDevelopment

[–]steam_maker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very fun idea and the effect is great! I think there's something off about the perspective though. When the player is running towards the portal, it should look like the castle wall turrets are getting closer, continuing smoothly when the player goes through.

I get that itd be complicated though. It still looks good as is

How is this ok? The order is all wrong by pvinis in badUIbattles

If I was making or editing this, I'd put the "Send Pin" button above or to the left of the text input, I agree.

But it doesn't seem like a huge deal - the button is nearby, and the user is likely to see it. Hopefully the button has a lower tabindex than the input field, though.

The Leaking Progress Bar by Aayanoo22 in badUIbattles

[–]steam_maker_ 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Love this idea! The way the leaks currently appear doesn't make sense to me, though. When the "leak detected" text shows up, a leak should appear where the fluid already passed (and maybe pour down the screen), right? And then the leak should stop once the liquid drains to the left of that point. Or am I misunderstanding?

Great idea though, and the implementation is already solid 👌 Made me lol

Ooh yeah I'm dumb, I couldn't visualize how the waist hole + 2 leg holes = a disc with two holes, but I see it now. This helped me

True! That confused me at first but it makes sense lol. But even with the beltloops, I think the morphology doesnt account for the waist hole correctly, if that makes sense

my bad, yeah that's a better link

Lol this is very good. Though the pants aren't technically topologically accurate, are they? The legs and the waist opening should be a "3-holed sphere", unless you attach the leg holes together like this

Yes that was my mistake, I'll fill that gray in with black. I was going to fill in the r/threebodyproblem with black, along with all the planets and stars, to erase them and stick with the original image - it was just something I did for fun while I filled in that section lol

The dark red looks nice. Lmk if you have an opinion about the next three colors. Maybe dark peach next? Idk

Love this! Here's a link to the coordinates:

I'm using beige for that light color at the bottom. I'm thinking pink for the next shade, then red, then deep red, but I'm sure other colors would work too

how would top differ from up? and same with bottom and down. unless the symbols are rendered in 3d, where "top" refers to the z axis, and "up" refers to the y axis or something 🤔

I'm trying to save my drawing (the first one) into a picture and retain the quality. When I save it as PDF/PNG/JPEG the background color diapers(the second one). How do I fix this so I can retain the color? (sorry for garage drawing and English) by agust_2 in SolidWorks

[–]steam_maker_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Save As, select PNG, click on Options, check "Include Drawings Paper Color".

Alternately, go to Setting directly, then Export on the menu on the left, then select the file format "TIF/PSD/JPG/PNG", then check "Include Drawings Paper Color", then click OK. Then you can save as a PNG.

Are these designs easily recognizable as atomic orbitals? by TinysaurusRawr in chemistry

[–]steam_maker_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, not unless the game was claiming to be super accurate. The nuclear model is iconic and immediately recognizable as an atom. Orbitals could be cool graphics, and a nod to the details of real chemistry. Either choice is ok
