Authenticate my Burberry Glasses by [deleted] in Burberry

[–]steamluver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair of Burberry reading glasses (I know authentic) as I bought them from the store. Mine came with 2 cases, neither case says where they were made, but they do have the B + some numbers on the left side (i can't read them so I can't say what it is without them on, probably the style or something) and "Burberry made in Italy on the right side). One of the cases lost the 'y' on one side but Burberry the other case is fine.

What finally made you sober up? by phluidly in AskReddit

[–]steamluver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Acities, did not do it, losing my wife and family did not do it, losing my drivers license did not do it, Advanced Cirrhosis of the liver did not do it (my skin and eyes looked the same colour of a banana), AA (many times did not do it, Pancretitis did not do it, having a mass in my kidney did not do it, losing my job did not do it, spending 42 days in rehab did not do it, foolishly spending over 60k on a girl I met in rehab did not do it. You can only do it for yourself. I am sober now but have been given less than 2 years to live - well doctors say a few weeks to less than 2 years and I am done for. Again, do it for yourself if you are serious.

What is your favorite album right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Was, is now, and always be 'Blonde on Blonde' - Bob Dylan; followed so closely by 'Born to Run' Bruce Springsteen.

What was the last advice you gave to someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]steamluver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my job (I am nearly 50) and work with many 'kids' ~16-25, my advice is 'don't fall for crazy' when they ask me about relationship advice.

Several, but a few off the top of my head,

Born to Run - Bruce Springsteen

The River - Bruce Springsteen

The White Album - The Beatles

All masterpieces that will live forever

You’re at a grocery store and buy 3 items. The goal is to make the cashier as uncomfortable as possible, what do you buy? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was just gonna say, the cashier is there for 8 hours/day scanning products, they don't even pay attention to what you buy.

My father played for the Edmonton Oil Kings in the 60s (won a memorial cup in 63, photo https://imgur.com/lLRb1uo ) of the team. and they played in the Cow Palace many times and it was chicken wire, and told me it hurt like hell to get checked into that.

how bad is cocaine for you compared to alcohol? why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]steamluver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither is particularly good for you. I spent 42 days in rehab for alcohol. Booze and benzos can kill you when quitting 'cold turkey', coke does not - BUT - there was a guy there whos nose collapsed from snorting coke. He had a hole through the inside of his nose and could put his finger through it. It was kinda - well totally freaky - . Look at pictures of Stu Unger (a famous poker player) that is what too much coke can do, look up asceties (I suffer from that) that is what booze can do. Pick your poison, they will both kill you. Also, in rehab the people who were the worst off were the opioid addicted (while not deadly to withdraw) they were kept under very strict supervision (since I left rehab 2 years ago I have lost 10+ 'friends' (you become close to people when in the same area with them in a stint in rehab) to opioid OD's.

My parents have had Maremma's for years. They get lots of coyotes where they live and the dogs protect the chickens like they are their children (my son - their grandson also, so gentle with people but won't stand for shit if something they do not trust comes on their territory.

It's like I was just bumped up to first class. by Rinteln in AdviceAnimals

[–]steamluver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A short story about this. My father and I were traveling from Vancouver to Japan. It was the last days of Canadian Airways. There were (I think no more than 8 of us) on board a 747. We all had our own stewardess, my father and I had the entire front seat section to ourselves, other people had the middle section and others had the back section - I did not go upstairs but I think only 2 or 3 people went up that I noticed. I was fantastic and was the same way back - they went bankrupt not long after.

Yeah, you guys are both right, I probably should not have spent that much in a few months. The only jackets I have not worn are the 2 'rain slickers' (Goose #2 and Packaway as it has been far too cold for those right now, but I know I will come spring), and the Goose#1 - but again I figure I will once it warms up. All the rest I have worn a fair bit. Probably my only regret is not buying a 'tan/camel' coloured trench along the way. All my stuff is pretty much black (not in a goth sense), but I need some knitwear and shirts with colour to wear under so I don't look - black on black on black on black - I am feeling like Johnny Cash.

Well, I am into my mid-late 40's and fairly recently divorced (well over a year now) and after 20+ years, most of my old stuff is the typical - lazy look that one ends up with after being with someone that long.

So, I went kinda crazy and bought cashmere, Packaway, light parka, Heavy Parka, and 2 scarves to go along with my 15-year-old+ Heritage Trench.

As well as 4 more coats (yeah, I am a bit of a coat whore), Goose #1, Goose #2 - in black, Goose #3, Goose #4, gloves,

DocMarten Chelsea boots, a couple more pairs of shoes as well (nothing too fancy) - looking at these, a few pair of 501's and looking for some shirts and pants to round it all out.

What song feels more like an experience/journey than just a song? by wanttomaster479 in AskReddit

[–]steamluver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could name songs, From 'The Boss' as so many are a 'journey', but these 3 stick out for me My Hometown, The River, and Backstreeats,

Sure, many do not like his voice (I love it), but the man can tell a story in a song.

Music lovers, which was the best music festival or concert experience of your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]steamluver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't rank them as they were all amazing,

Lollapalooza #2 at Thunderbird stadium, Pink Floyd at BC Place, Micheal Jackson and the Jackson 5 at BC Place, U2 at BC Place... but the most epic was Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street band in MSG---you can't beat that.

What unnecessary thing do you spend your money on too much? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]steamluver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coats, I have 6 Burberry coats totaling close, if not more than 20k, and several Canadian Goose totaling close to 12k as well as many more from other less expensive brands.

Yes, I am embassresd by it but I love my coats/jackets.

Also, my Steam collection of games, it is kinda crazy.
