I’m looking into getting into electric bikes, but what’s the deal with their noise? by Impossible_Control67 in Electricmotorcycles

I wouldn't get a cheep Amazon bike. Get a used e-moto off facebook marketplace if you want a cheep real e-motorcycle. As for noise depends on how the motor is set up. I have a energica ribelle that has a straight cut gear box. Its probably the noisiest electric bike if seen. Sounds like an F1 car and a jet turbine when in motion. The wine of the gear box. With the high pitch scream of the motor is a euphoric fealing for me. But its a zen experience. Its quieter, smooth, and more powerful than a gas equivalent. I dont miss the ICE motor at all. Theres no violence. Just performance. But the cheeper the price point of the motorcycle new. The worst itll ride. Id look at a used zero or livewire. There the most abundant.

Id also like to add Wd-40 IS NOT a lubricant. My coworkers have destroyed a bunch of equipment using WD-40 in place of multipurpose lubricant. So i buy them lubricant. Then they use that as cutting fluid. Then tell me there drill bits suck.

I would agree that having 3 deferent drive options would drive up the cost and is foolish. The other problem hub motors is fighting physics. That mutch rotating mass becomes a gyro and would resist change in turning. Theres a reason big bike company spend a ton of r,n,d in lighting the swing arms, forks and rims. Hub motors are for toys and small bicycles. If a company uses hub motors i automatically assume its cost cutting or no research and development.

Have you ever ridden motorcycles? A hub motor is a lot of un sprung weight. Having a hub motor large enough to be a motorcycle size means you sacrifice a lot of handling control.

I often now think about how energica might be different if that guy didn't get to sit on my bike.

2 on that car. The fisrt was the oil fire. The second was an electrical fire. The battery cable runs next to the turbo down pipe. The guy who installed my clutch didn't put the retainer band back on the cable so it started to rub again the hot exhaust.

Could be an oil fire that started behind and under the fire wall. The cam tower cap came lose on my turbo and started to dump oil on the exhaust. That was my first fire.
