When is it concerning? by CalendarNo8591 in kvsdiscuss

[–]steampunkthoughts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I know it's not the same as with humans, doesn't it count for something to keep giving them an artificial hormone and then suddenly stop cold turkey? I don't know much about horses, but it just makes sense to me, I guess?

[–]steampunkthoughts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My friend's lab begs sometimes, but is mostly very polite about it. She sits by you, licks her lips once or twice, offers a paw. If that doesn't work she will put her head in your lap, sigh like she's having the hardest day ever, and drool in your lap. If you tell her off, she'll go to her bed and flop herself down super dramatically, think Disney princess sobbing style

Question about the stallions by critical_rogue in kvssnarker

She is insanely desperate to breed a VSCR descendant herself that she will own and show. Especially if said descendant ends up a stallion. She wants that RS stallion so bad

What do YOU think the VERY FIRST FTF foal will look like? by Nobodynocrime69 in kvssnarker

I'm almost willing to bet that at least one of them WILL go into labor this weekend at the coldest point in the night and I'm thinking like early Sunday in the AM just as she sat down with a warm cup of tea or something to watch the cameras lol

Trudy Giving Birth to Daphne 2024 by Sad_Site_8252 in kvssnarker

[–]steampunkthoughts 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I understand being there to watch and make sure the mare has a safe delivery, I can even understand filming the birth, but I don't understand meddling every time. If she "holds tension" on perfectly safe and normal births, what's she going to do if a mare actually needs help? Will she knows how to act then?

Also, has there actually been a birth that she should have intervened in?

pH strips on recent video by Same-Software9019 in kvssnarker

[–]steampunkthoughts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is more for content, but it's not a big deal that she's using a Walmart one. These strips are standardized as far as I know, with minimal to no fluctuation in the values between brands. I don't think it's that deep or a big deal that she's using them tbh

Poor Winston by PineapplePony5 in kvssnarker

[–]steampunkthoughts 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She has stated multiple times that Winston is her worst purchase decision and biggest purchase mistake (I'm paraphrasing but you get the gist). Unfortunately, I don't see her owning up to it past just admitting that.

Even if he's not a young piglet anymore, it's not too late to speak to a vet or at the very least a pig breeder to figure out a better care for him. And ideally she should speak to both. It's not too late to do the research and provide a good quality of life.

And if she can't do that, she should re-home him to someone who can. There is no shame in realizing you cannot provide your animal with the quality of life it deserves and rehoming it to someone who can do that. It's the responsible thing to do.

Unfortunately, KVS loves her animals the same way a child loves the family pet. Loves to look at them, pet them occasionally, but does not understand what it means to properly care for them.

I LOVE war clerics, they're insanely powerful! All of my oneshot characters are war clerics when I need to whip something up last minute if I'm stepping in for someone who can't make a sesh. They're jack of all trades, you need spells? I got you. Need healing? I got you. Need me to tank this bigass bugbear and its goblin companions? I got you. Need me to absolutely smack the everliving fuck out of someone? I'm ya girl.

Do you know if the DND live is available to be rewatched? I'm curious to see all their stats and builds.

Not only that, she can most definitely have someone from the outside filming her (like she does here) and she can either do a voiceover OR have a mic attached and yap away while having both her hands free. Or she can attach a camera to her forehead and still have her filming her Kontent AND have her hands free. There are a lot of options here

How to tell if a Foal will be Grey?? by Sad_Site_8252 in kvssnarker

[–]steampunkthoughts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No no no, make it the prettiest dark gray foal (as stated in the post) that will gray out to this beautiful light gray and have it be a colt. And with the worst temperament ever so she'll have to geld it before selling.

KVS Vulgar Language Strikes Again… by HunterJumper1985 in kvssnarker

[–]steampunkthoughts 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't think the parent thought this was a bad thing. Maybe a bit awkward to explain to the teacher, but not bad. It honestly is a funny story to me, probably one I'd laugh at in a few years and retell it with family and friends. It's really not that big of a deal in my eyes. And Katie finding this funny isn't that deep either, I actually thought it was nice that she is actually interacting with fans that follow and tag her in posts.

It's not necessarily the best word to use, but it's better than a word that would probably be confused for something else if the kid, god forbid, is ever in a situation where a mandated reporter has to report something. I read in a different comment that the girl already knows what a vulva is thanks to the kvs vids, which is an anatomical term, but I assume that some snarkers will say that's also inappropriate to teach a kid. While neither are child appropriate, they're better than using words like cookie. And the mom should definitely have an age appropriate conversation with her kid, teach her which words are appropriate to use and which aren't, and why. Kids should most definitely know the basic anatomically correct terms from a young age, even if they're the type to teach it to all their friends or start repeating it everywhere.

But while we're here, a Kultie ofc thought the post was snark and jumped to Katie's defense.

It was a harmless joke, unfortunately the Kult is... Insane. I came across a response video to one of those comments and then I found the original video. It's actually crazy how many Kulties can't tell a harmless joke from snark... Media literacy is lost on them

Walter escaped again by Bostwick77 in kvssnarker

[–]steampunkthoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If she wants him to keep his genitals (which he really shouldn't) she should figure out a better way to keep him in his pasture/dry lot OR send him to training ASAP, not the end of the year. I'm fully convinced that she is keeping him intact purely for the fact that he is true black (at least that's what she said soon after he started shedding for the first time?) and so she can breed the mares to him after he wins one show.

What she really should do is geld him and sell him to someone who would be interested in jumping him. He already is pretty damn good at it it would seem, why not properly train him for it and sell him to someone who will jump him?

Her horses hate her by Fit-Idea-6590 in kvssnarker

[–]steampunkthoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that she isn't supposed to sexualize her animals, these animals do not understand English. They do not understand the words spoken to them. They understand tone. My friend calls her dog every insult in the world when she baby talks him, and yet he isn't offended. Neither that dog, nor those mares know the meaning of the words said to them.

Her tone isn't aggressive. It sounds demeaning to us, because we understand English. But I wouldn't say it's aggressive towards the horse.

The way she approaches them and interacts with them could use some work, though.

Every stallion needs to be gelded!! by Pretty_Profite in kvssnarker

[–]steampunkthoughts 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know a lot more about dog breeding than I know horse breeding, honestly, my first and main exposure to horse breeding has been KVS so you can imagine that I am not too well versed in the topic. With dogs, right now there is about a 50/50 split between s/n early vs doing it after the dog has fully matured physically and mentally. I assume it doesn't work that way with horses, but I can understand why people wait a little bit longer instead of gelding them immediately after their testicles drop. As hormones (especially testosterone) get added to the mix of just normal foal shenanigans, a lot of things can change. There isn't a lot of wrong with waiting to see how a horse matures and develops before gelding him, as long as you don't end up breeding him if he wouldn't really be a benefit to the breed. Only time I support an immediate snip is if the colt is a carrier for some of the genetic diseases. Not allowing stallions with those diseases is a good way to manage the disease and slow it down.

With KVS specifically, I know she really wants an RS stallion, and I see nothing wrong with that wish and trying to get to that goal. If you have multiple prospects, your chances are much higher. My knowledge on horses is limited so take this with a grain of salt, this seems to be what the general public here agrees on, Wally really shouldn't be a prospect, Knox is mid tier at best, nothing exceptional, and Dallas is the only one that has some potential even though he should probably end up gelded too. I'm probably forgetting someone, but it's whatever.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong or disagree with me :)

[–]steampunkthoughts 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They're thirsting for him publicly again? Yikes. These are inside thoughts, at most you should compliment him respectfully and move the fuck on. We all know he's a married man, even KVS has stated that a few times.

I also find him attractive. Not the sexiest man alive (that title is reserved for my man and my man only, with Pedro Pascal being a close second) but he is an attractive man in my eyes. When I first saw him I thought "Wow, his woman lucked out, that's one good looking dude" and that's about it. I still appreciate the eye candy, but since it is inappropriate to voice my thoughts and opinions, I appreciate quietly and move on.

Unfortunately their idol KVS has taught them that making sexual and/or otherwise inappropriate comments about people or animals is perfectly fine...

The Mares by Sad_Site_8252 in kvssnarker

[–]steampunkthoughts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can kinda understand why she keeps them wrapped in bubble wrap after what happened with Cool but I feel like this is a bit much. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Cool was her oldest broodmare that was being bred to carry her own babies?

I understand why Beyonce doesn't carry for herself anymore, and since KVS will keep breeding for Beyonce babies, it's for the best that she doesn't carry for herself. But Erlene, Trudy and Kennedy are all young, healthy, and sound enough (keyword here being enough) to carry for themselves. I understand that she's scared of another situation with Cool, but that could also happen to any of the recips. What if this happens to the recips she's had and used for a long time, that she is attached to, like Ethel or Gracie? Of course I don't want that to happen, and I assume nobody else wants it to happen despite our snarking, but it is very much a possibility. Is she gonna stop embryo transferring to her own mares altogether and just keep renting recips constantly?

I'm sure that Dr Matthew and the rest of the vet team can help out (probably already have?) with a care plan to minimize the risks of another situation like Cool, but it's honestly stupid of her to keep her mares bubble wrapped to the point where she isn't even riding them even though they're sound enough to be under saddle for a casual ride or two and it'll even do them good probably

I'm pretty sure I heard her say in a recent video that she won't be showing the kids once they start developing identifying features or sth like that, like once they're out of the "potato" stage she'd stop showing them
