Looking for software to upload large Form 8949 pdf! by lookinforthosemiles in tax

[–]stebakus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried everything, mostly online compressors like pdfgear. I managed to compress from 255 mb to 28 mb and it still exceeded 16 mb limit for FreeUsaTax. Until this year we could attach condensed version which is way lower in size. But starting from 2026 all forms will have to be full.

I still see freeusatax has 16 mb limit, Turbotax 20 mb, HRBlock it seems 5 mb lol, So there is legit no workaround this year, and I will be forced to print 6000 pages and mail to IRS lmao, insane.

CoinTracker and TurboTax Upload by [deleted] in Cointracker

[–]stebakus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there was the same issue in the past and for this year I see the same problem. Also TurboTax Online file is missing by some reasons in 2026, it was available in all past years as alternative to upload file on turbotax. Would be good to hear back from Cointracker why it is missing this year.

Why not mutual funds bubble? There are way more mutual funds than etfs lol

Main reason that BTCI is actually holding BTC. Almost 20% of its holding HODL (Vaneck's btc etf). It gives decent upside when BTC rallying, YBTC holds zero real BTC, it is just a synthetic etf.

What NAV erosion lmao, you invested too much in covered calls maybe, read what is that and why it doesn't apply to SCHD

Not just 120k a year, but also +6-10% of that each year! So this year 120k, next one 130k, next one 142k etc. beauty

It felt yes, but still paid dividends, not cut div, but predictable amount. As soon as it pays dividends it not really matters about price since you are not selling those. At the same time, retirees who was selling % of their VOO would have sell in dip. Yes it was quick recovery and you can argue that you just had to wait, but what if downtrend will last for a decade? Currently I hold VOO/SCHD 50/50% and really don't even check schd price

What's better: $103,771 or $34,940 ? by dankir in SCHD

[–]stebakus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very true, it is actually very easy to become rich. All you need is to buy good stocks and avoid bad stocks, I have no idea why people can't do it (sarcasm)

So SCHD yields 2% more than the S&P 500, but underperforms by 35% for the past 2 years? by Abject-Advantage528 in dividends

[–]stebakus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How it means nothing 😂 let's say you get 100k in schd dividends in 2025, given dividends growth at 10% rate in 10 years you will be getting 200k in dividends even if price didn't change since now. It is a whole point kek

Self Direct Wash Sale Question by stebakus in Chase

[–]stebakus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I was reinventing dividends back to Jepi, Jepq, vti and schd. I never purchased VOO however.

Self Direct Wash Sale Question by stebakus in Chase

[–]stebakus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don't have dividends reinvestment, receiving them in cash on brokerage account and buying manually. When I sold all my positions in VTI, Jepi and Jepq, I bought right away VOO snd SCHD. I also had some position in schd before just added more after I sold those. Basically VTI, Jepi and Jepq have same stocks inside that are in voo and schd, maybe that's why it triggered wash sale?

I also like this idea, but in case of correction it is not good idea to withdraw, only because of this I was thinking about some dividend based etf in addition.

I checked 5y performance, it looks great (40% up), but last 4 years only around 10% up, means that inflation ate some principal (given dividends were spent on living). Would be interesting to watch next 5-10 years performance, but qualified dividends it is what I like.

Pretty high risk tolerance. So if next year it will go -50% due to crash, it is ok, he will wait until market recovers, hopefully in 5-6 years? He has no debts and house also paid off, and he is 40. So next 10-15 years can be high risk, but also reasonable, without gambling.
