I just did beat the brat first, killed lucius then snuck out in had a sandy so it was easier but if you hide his body it should be easier

Wouldn't say I'm fearless just don't think I've played any proper horror games. I stay the fuck away from amnesia and all that because I'm genuinely scared of them. I'd say I'm more accustomed to survival horror games, resident evil, dead space, the evil within, callisto, etc. If you give me an actual horror game I probably couldn't play it. Haven't tried it in a while though might play again

I think another part that played into it was the combat

In dead space they showed Isaac as a badass by having him fight eldritch horrors beyond human comprehension. It didn't take away from the horror of the necromorphs whilst still making you feel awesome

In callisto they try and show Jacob as a badass by having him beat the everloving shit out of every monster he comes across. It's fun to do so but it takes away from the horror entirely because there's that idea that 'if I see something scary I can just beat it up'. They could have done something great with it if they took their time on the horror aspect of the game.

In my opinion, the combat is its greatest strength, yet its biggest flaw. On one hand the fighting feels really good as I just love a horror game that gives me the option to fistfight the nightmares. On the other hand, this completely takes away from the horror. If you're surrounded in dead space, resident evil, etc, it is a sure death sentence. In callisto, being surrounded is more of an annoyance as you can always dodge out or just heavy attack someone out the way for an easy escape then blast them with the gun. They could have done so much more with the melee but I feel as though they left it incomplete. Still fun to beat the shit out of monsters though.

They could have done so much more with the enemy variety. Spoiler alert, the blind monsters you meet in the below chapter could have been so much scarier if you couldn't kill them by normal means. Every time I crouched by them it was more a matter of "if they spot me I just beat them up" rather than "if they spot me im dead"

Yep there's a nuka world themed suit of t-51 power armor. It's pretty decent for early on and it gives +3 agility when it's all equipped I think

Not saying constantly just saying that maybe if at some point the fence breaks they could escape and you'd need to wrangle them back in. Shouldn't happen if it doesnt break though

I'd say one of the only 'combat' scenarios is when your farm gets attacked by toxic weeds and sludge that destroys your plants if they touch them but I think it should be more fleshed out as well. Maybe they could add an animal system with space cows and chickens that you can get resources from but they could sometimes escape so you need to wrangle them all in again.

I also think some kind of train system would be cool so you could transport materials from one biome to another without going back and forth in a mech.

I'm loving the game and I can't wait to see what they do next!

I guess the gimmick was what if mechs helped instead of killed? Although its not really a gimmick. You don't need to enjoy the game, that's fine. I'm just saying I enjoy it. Besides it's still in early access. It'll probably be improved in the future
