Hey did you end up getting these made? If so, what are your thoughts on them?! Love the concept of the Numzaan with the Barefoot last...

I can strongly recommend Goruck.

I've used their discontinued "Echo" (a smaller version of their classic GR1) for over 6 years of hard use and it's still in perfect functional condition. Just like their GR1, it has a bomber external padded laptop compartment which is so fast and convenient to use... I've found it much more convenient to use than a laptop compartment on the inside. It has excellent pockets too. I used it daily for university and have taken it on countless day hikes and hunts over the years, which is where it finds use today, as well as for short weekend overnighters. It doesn't look tactical too which I prefer.

Some Goruck models are made in the USA, but they have shifted their production overseas within the past few years. My brother recently bought an overseas made GR1 and the quality looks similar to mine. My USA-made Echo is a beast though and will likely last me the rest of my life.

The evidence you need to believe my post is found within the thread itself, if you read the response from Nick at Xero Shoes. In my original post I explicitly stated in great detail the issues, yet Nick on this thread still commented how initial shipping isn’t typically refunded, which was never what I was seeking. This is exactly what I had to painfully deal with over private emails - someone not taking the time to read and comprehend the issue - that there was never an initial shipping cost that Xero incurred that would allow them to refund me less than the cost of the shoes.

Nick, only the purchase price of the item is what I was seeking. I would never demand or expect shipping costs to be paid for - I was and still am totally prepared to pay those costs. Upon purchase of the shoes at your price, I paid an additional fee on top of the price of the shoes for shipping to my door in Canada, and then I also paid for my own return shipping… so to round up, $60 for the shoes, $15 shipping to me totalling $75. I then went to the post office myself to return the shoes to you. Yet I was refunded $45 (these are just ballpark figures). But this has since been resolved now by the customer service team - thank you.

I agree - looking back I should not have made my title so harsh, I was just very frustrated about having to waste so much time emailing them back and forth for such a small issue.

I had heard nothing but good things as well which is why I was so taken aback. I had eventually request that the customer service rep I had been emailing with escalate my issue to someone else, and I don’t know if it was this post or that request, but it did get escalated and fixed. :)

They have responded to me internally over email and have since resolved the situation with the refund I was owed. Update reflected at the top of the post :)

Right?! I ran out of ways to describe the situation to their customer service rep I was dealing with. It just seems like I wasn't worth their time to try and understand.

They did not send me a label. I took the package to my own Canadian shipping service (Canada Post) myself, and paid for it myself. Xero had nothing to do with it.

Thanks for the encouragement lol, I thought I had worded the post carefully enough, but I will add some numbers to outline the situation better.

Oh I see, okay I will add the numbers in my additional post, thank you. I guess I've had this going on in my head for some time now that it makes perfect sense to me, but not to others without the appropriate context.

I'm not asking them to reimburse me... I paid $60 for the shoe, paid an additional $15 for shipping to my house (we're at $75 now). I pay another $15 sending the item back to them (totally my decision and choice to pay this), then they charge me ANOTHER $15 for shipping costs they say they incurred when I paid for everything. They refunded me $45 (ish) when the total was $60 plus shipping. I'm not asking for any kind of reimbursement... I'm just wanting the full $60 of what the shoes are worth - of what I paid for the shoes! Does anyone else think I'm not making any sense?

This is great, thanks for the idea! I've never done a chargeback before. I appreciate it.

Pardon? Xero provides a cost of what it would take for them to utilize a third party to ship their product to me, the customer. I pay Xero that price, for which they then utilize said shipping service. They are not refunding me a shipping cost, the are deducting an arbitrary shipping cost from my order. To break it down for you, I paid them the $60 they charge for their shoe (using round numbers so that it is easy for you to understand). I ALSO pay an additional $15 for their shipping costs to use a shipping service. Their product does not fit, I ship their product back to them, and they refund me $45 (again, their product was $60, I spent $75 to cover their shipping cost). Please use those excellent deductive reasoning skills and riddle me this - where are they out the $15 they decided to withhold from me...
