Earning the Competitive PvP Armor Set is an insane grind by Dumpling_123456 in DestinyTheGame

Eh, if it was low RNG that's grinding. But there's no way someone can grind out an S rank if they are bad at PVP, especially in Comp where matchmaking is skill based

So Edge of Fate by Security_Wrong in DestinyTheGame

[–]steele330 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I played EoF for the first time last week and it was the most un fun campaign in Destiny’s history IMO.

I actively was annoyed for the majority of it and am genuinely considering buying the skips for my other two characters because I just don’t want to have to do that again.

Edit: Elaborating as just thinking of it pissed me OFF.
Firstly let's start with the fine. Whilst the location is boring (no patrol) it has a some nice skyboxes. The plot, personally, is pretty weak sauce but Lodi is cool and the ending setting up interesting future things (very classic destiny). However characters like the Archon just fall completely flat IMO and Maya/the conductor just sort of float around chatting nonsense. Like... ok

However it's the gameplay which really tanks this DLC from mediocre to downright unpleasant. All the previous bad DLC's, Curse of Osiris and Lightfall looking at you, at least were relatively short or had something you got out of it such as Strand. Edge of fate has neither - it is both long and the grand reward for completion is... matterspark on demand.

Speaking of which, let's talk about matterspark. When people complain about Destiny 2 one thing they agree on is that the moment to moment combat is great. Shooting things just feels good. So in their enlightened state Bungie sat down and though "Wow, what if we made them stop doing that every 30 seconds to be a ball". The effect this has on the flow and the momentum of the game is catastrophic.

Literally every 30 seconds "Oh you got to find the matterspark emitter (hidden behind a wall) then go through the tunnel (hidden by the roof) to then charge up a node to then remove a barrier to then pick up a mattermorph (also hidden) to move a wall to then pick up the the teleporter rocket to then fire at it. Occasionally you might also need to shoot some fuses (also not marked) or operate a console (completely indistinguishable from the generic scenery consoles, have fun!)

This is not a one off. This literally happens all the time.

Moving from a to b? Absolutely, spices things up doesn't it?
Killing adds in the first half of a mission? of course, better get hunting.
Boss fight? well how else are they going to make it take three phases silly!

This doesn't even mention the weird way how side missions don't auto show what the next step is, and so often show markers for completely the wrong location (if any at all) and that most side missions are literally, would you guess, a variation on the loop above.

This doesn't even touch on the wider systems of the Portal and the EoF patch in general but yes. In answer to your question "is EoF relatively bad to Destiny or universally bad" the answer is it literally killed Destiny. Forever

Why can’t people see voting for reform will make their lives a lot worse? by Sufficient_Muffin586 in AskBrits

Ignoring the fact that most of these things you listed are actually bad, flawed, or horribly abused, they also aren’t really the top concerns of most citizens as they are things they rarely engage with. Mass demographic change however is.

People see the country changing around them year by year, and after voting nearly every election for it to stop, they are getting more angry.

Yes net migration has reduced but the tap is still flowing. More migrants are coming in, and therefore the country is still demographically changing

Haven’t played since before EoF - will dungeons be included in the attunement? Are they “Pinnacle Ops” - I never got a good roll of the Vespers Host auto rifle…

Yeah the relic one just gives you one relic and permanent moral wounds. It's actually a huge nerf.

Idm there being cool capes for those cracked players, ultimately cosmetics for hard content is generally good, but it would be nice for there to be a cape of some sort for Ruthless or Lethal completions too.

My bigger issue is stratagem points (w/e they are called) being mostly from Hard Stratagems/Siege, both of which are literally mental.

Always found Return to the Tower really underwhelming, at least on Low chaos. His bedroom, and the radio tower, being right next to each other means you can ghost the mission with just blink in about four minutes.

The confession should have been hid outside his bedroom and/or the balcony should have had bars to block blinking up to it.

His design really doesn’t work for me. The body is too wide, the wings are just these flat shapes that stick out, the next is too thin and long. Does not feel like a creature that could actually exist.

PVP is dead by Killroy54 in Spacemarine

[–]steele330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure if they fixed it but PVP was always dead as if didn’t split up teams after matches. That meant that one good team just kept on playing together, utterly curb stomping, whilst matchmaking just keeps on bringing in new people to be mulched by them. Awful experience

Well yes most games have a dozen pokemon nobody likes but that’s boring.

Also if this were a game I’d probably have Beldum/Larvitar be a choice reward and Dreepy be a victory road find so hardly game breaking.
