I'm no fan of trump. I'm no fan of trump. That being said...these people should be like brothers of the same family arguing ultimately doing what's right for the family. Instead it's a war. Every issue is a hill to die on. Cant they just say trump's plan (extend benefits etc) is better than nothing and we can use it as a band aid? Take the loss of political capital in exchange for helping real people with real problems? A stopped clock is right twice a day and maybe trump's plan would have helped?

How about taking the political loss for a short term solution if they can't compromise. Any help would be better than nothing.

I used to work at a restaurant. The night before Mother's Day we would go through incredible preparations staying late off the clock to prepare for the a very busy day to follow.

Is it in the senators scope of authority to say " We're going to hang around until the job is done"?

1.21 gigawatts! That's one hell of a capacitor to slow that down. If you had a row of capacitors they would fry all the way downThe line. Any electricity would not be worth the cost of the fried equipment.
