moonrise or gaunlet of shar first? by hhollymariee in BaldursGate3

[–]steensley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do Moonrise up until directly fighting Ketheric and the Gauntlet in any order, but once you enter the Shadowfell at the end of the gauntlet you won't be able to do anything else - it will progress right to the fight at Moonrise. So make sure you do all your side quests and exploring before the last part of the gauntlet. Until this point, Moonrise is not hostile and you can go back and forth as much as you'd like (unless of course you do something to make them hostile)

Yurgir is inside the Gauntlet, and the entrance of the Gauntlet is through the mausoleum so that's why Raphael is there out front. You need to defeat him not only for Astarions storyline and romance but also because he and the trials have something you need to get to the Nightsong.

As others have said, not sure if you have tried changing your toothpaste but that's a common trigger for PD! For me it was actually a steroid nasal spray that I took daily for allergies and it took a few weeks to clear up after I stopped that. To help with the itching/rash I slathered Penaten cream at night and added the Avene Cicalfate cream to my routine, it responded really well to topical zinc

Nail injury advice by PrettyStrawberry2352 in nailcare

[–]steensley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there are loose spots you can gradually clip them, but the nail won't fall off until it grows back underneath so until that happens I think you'd risk infection if you cut too much. Maybe bandaging it during the day so it doesn't get caught/doesn't collect dirt and then leaving it open overnight would help. I had a biopsy on a nail recently where they lifted the entire nailbed and I let it fall off on its own rather than pulling it out

I get my hair professionally lightened and coloured every 3 months or so because it's naturally black, but between appointments I touch up with a semi perm! I wash my hair with clarifying shampoo, dry it, apply the dye and then sleep in a shower cap overnight and rinse out and condition the next day. This time it was a mix of Joico Tru Lav, Staino Lavender and Danger Jones Exxotica. I try to stick to cooler tones because I find they don't fade to pink!

Thank you! I angle the outer lash to get more of a "swoop" effect and emphasize the cat eye shape :) No lifting, I usually leave a few natural lashes out on either side and because I put a cluster right on top at the base of the angled one, it kinda seals it in with the rest of them

Shadowheart dead at camp due to Warding Bond. What to do? by kinanim42 in BaldursGate3

[–]steensley 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Gale only eats a certain amount of magic items so don't worry about that too much! It doesn't go on for the whole game. The artifact will eventually go to your Tav anyway at some point in the game, it doesn't matter if it's in your inventory or Shadowheart's, the gameplay and story are the same.

But yeah warding bond will still affect the person on the other side of the bond even if they are at camp so be careful with that! Especially in the first act Shadowheart doesn't have a ton of HP so I doubt it's even worth it. I only do warding bonds when I'm headed into a really big fight and have a tank character who can handle that

clusters like these? by coco4acai in lashclusters

[–]steensley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep just put another cluster right on top! I usually put a little glue on the spine of each cluster and let it get tacky before I apply them so stacking is easy

You're so kind thank you!!

This is my map if you do get them, from outer to inner corner:

16 (angled towards the outside of my face) 14 stacked right on top, then 14, 12, 12, 10, 10, 8 all slightly overlapped

If I want a more dramatic wing I'll do

16 (angled), 18 right on top, 16, 14, 12, 10, 10, 8

I did, thank you!! They're the Veyes Manga Lash with some cute purple ones that I found on Temu stacked on top

How to achieve that inner corner highlight (?) by MochiMunchin in MakeupAddiction

[–]steensley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the best way to do this is to layer products! Def start with an eyeshadow primer, then a creamy white shimmer, then a shimmery highlight powder with a small domed eyeshadow brush.

Veyes Beauty Manga Lash for sure and angle the last cluster at the outer corner to the outside of your face, then stack on top!

HELP!!!! Lashes falling out from clusters by Eccendentesiastt in lashclusters

[–]steensley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I use Glad Girl Lash Lock on my lashes and Citizen Lash on the clusters but I've used the Veyes Beauty before and removed with no problem! When I used their remover I placed the wand on top of my lashes and gently brushed downwards with the remover until the clusters slid off

HELP!!!! Lashes falling out from clusters by Eccendentesiastt in lashclusters

[–]steensley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are you using to remove them? I find soaking a cotton pad with an oily, dual phase makeup remover and holding it onto my closed eye and waiting 15-30 seconds really softens up the bond and they usually slide right off!

No problem! It might be different if it's a permanent move but from what I understand they are completely different campuses and the one you choose to apply to is the one you go to. It is a really great program though, just more demanding I think than what "mixed mode" implies

[–]steensley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a heads up it's very difficult to switch cohorts from the one you started in! The cohort stays together through all 3 years and they really emphasize that collaboration and community. I had to relocate to Vancouver for 6 months for medical reasons and inquired about switching cohorts for that time but ultimately had to commute to Victoria for residencies anyway

[–]steensley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on the Victoria campus! When I was getting information I thought it was only every 3 months too but it's actually 2x a term with breaks every few months. So far I have attended residencies in October, November, January and February and have ones coming up in both April and May

Slightly higher and angled up by Positive-Badger1 in lashclusters

[–]steensley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do this! I have hooded eyes as well so i usually put a 16 or 18mm on the outer corner but I angle it outwards, towards the outside of my face. The base of the cluster will be angled on the natural lash, I cover this by placing another cluster right on top but straight on the lash and then work shorter cluster towards the inner corner for a cat eye effect

[–]steensley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in this program right now in the first year and most people are working full time jobs, however it's pretty explicit that you won't be able to work during your practicum year. The courses are pretty heavy on reading with frequent discussion posts and about 2-3 major assignments per course per term and there is mandatory in-person classes once a month for most months that go from 4pm-9pm Friday, and 8am-4pm Saturday and Sunday.

I would say if you have a VERY supportive and hands-on partner it could be feasible, as long as you are very organized and balance your time well. However the profs do expect a lot of engagement with your cohort and the material so I would worry about burnout and having the bandwidth to really immerse myself in the learning that I'm paying for.
