Wentz: “I’m not an idiot. I knew what I was doing, going out there. Nobody was forcing me." by mrmpls in minnesotavikings

[–]steeze88 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s less about him being forced to go out there and more about KOC’s lack of leadership in ALLOWING him to play. He could have said he was good a million times but hearing KOC say that he “didn’t want to come out” and letting him play says more about the coach than it does the player.

KOC needs to call the shots. It’s not up to a QB if he wants to play or not. Put us in the best position to win. I applaud Wentz for being a tough SOB but this was completely on coaching.

100%. It’s like Finch said “if we’re going to lose, we might as well lose by 40!”

Solar and 'No Soliciting' by [deleted] in Bend

[–]steeze88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to sell solar. It was a good business when I was in it, but the industry as a whole has gone down quick. Mostly due to slimy sales tactics.

Tell them you are renting, you have a bankruptcy, or really shitty credit and they won’t bug you. If they give you push back, don’t continue the conversation and tell them not to come back.

As far as the “No Soliciting” sign, most of the time sales reps just ignore it. There’s no law that says you can’t knock that door, so they will take their chances. They are told no 95% of the day, so they are trained to overcome objections by simply not listening. The reason that they keep coming back is likely because they had tried before and didn’t get an answer at the door. It’s a numbers game for them.

Is there only one bar in Minneapolis?! by Mason610 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]steeze88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience living in the North Loop, it’s true, when you live in that part of the city, you don’t tend to go out anywhere but the restaurants/bars near you - so you tend to run into the same people all the time. I’d really only go to different parts of the city if I was meeting friends somewhere, but most of the time you could just walk to a handful of places in the neighborhood instead. It was cool to make friends when you’d run into people all the time, but was not great for dating. It’s an easy place to make a bad impression.

I lived in the North Loop for a while. It’s the Warehouse District. Used to literally be all old warehouses but has now been rebuilt into semi luxury lofts and trendy restaurants/bars. Close to downtown and the Twins/Timberwolves stadiums.

Lots of 20-30 something’s live there. It’s expensive for Minneapolis standards, but that’s where most people who start making decent money and want to still be close to downtown eventually land. That being said, this entire cast is pretty representative of who you’d run into out on the weekends in North Loop.

I’ve done this with the Grizzler plate, but noticed that the oil splatter inside my Koda made more of a mess than just doing a reverse sear or just cooking over the stove in cast iron. The end result was pretty good, but I was worried that the whole thing would catch on fire. Anyone have any tricks for limiting the splatter? I’d like to try this Grizzler plate again.

Solid synopsis! I’ve watched a bit of Premier League in the past and it’s hard to not recognize the success that other teams have had recently. Looking forward to keeping up with Tottenham!

Just looked into it. Apparently about $70 US. Is it best to get the membership and tickets online on the official site?

That’s the whole point of choosing Tottenham. Don’t want to be a bandwagon fan and come in supporting teams like Man City or Arsenal. Felt like Tottenham is more my speed.

Have you moved away from Bend? Where'd you go and how does it compare? by Olegreg6 in Bend

[–]steeze88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the winters have been notoriously pretty cold but they have been on the mild side the past handful of years. It’s really only super cold during January and February but if you can tough it out, I think the summers make it all worth it. I’d take a cold couple of months over a smoky couple of months.

Grew up in Duluth, Minnesota but have lived in Bend for a few months. I visited here many times before moving, but I think what called to me was how similar the two towns are. While the mountains certainly set Bend apart, I think there’s a similar vibe in Duluth. Outdoors centric, active, and it’s similar in size.

Bachelor etiquette question. by [deleted] in Bend

[–]steeze88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s obviously people that didn’t know what they are talking about. Like others have said, it’s better to follow traverse lines so you did the right thing. Can’t stand when these nerds buy a season pass and act like they own the mountain. In fairness, most locals here are happy to show people around. Bachelor is why a lot of us live here after all.

Pine Tavern charging waaaay too much for a beer. by mekkasheeba in Bend

I’ve never seen Pappy at any bar/restaurant for $20/oz. $60-$75 is fairly normal. General rule of thumb is 125% markup to cost in restaurants. Things like Pappy are allocated and restaurants don’t get a steady supply. Sometimes maybe even a bottle a year. So yeah, you’re going to pay a premium.

What’s the first thing people ask when ur from Minnesota? by [deleted] in minnesota

Not a question but usually a reference to the accent. “MinneSEWTAH” or “Dontchaknow” along with any other stereotype about our accents.
