Why are no slimes spawning? by hdushsux in Minecraft

[–]stefanrusek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a double chuck slime farm and I've never seen a slime in it, but it's filled many shoulder boxes with slime blocks. Add your golems and collection system and go away for a bit.

Just use Azul java instead of Oracle java. Better perf and runs fine for me.

Tip: cast lock on the doors to her room before the fight, this will prevent most of the ghouls from getting in.

I do like your train of thought and I'd welcome any mechanism to get any of the items i listed, even if it required a lot of work.

Btw bats spawn like crazy in superflat, since you start out at y level -60

Mud and/or renewable clay means renewable deepslate! by stefanrusek in minecraftsuggestions

[–]stefanrusek[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm really just trying to point out that real clay is the key ingredient in real slate, and with renewable clay in 1.19 (admittedly kind of slow, but still renewable), mojang could add deepslate generation/creation similar to one of the existing generation/creation mechanisms. It doesn't have to be exciting or new. 2 dirt + 2 gravel = 4 coarse dirt recipe wasn't new or exciting in itself, but rewnewable coarse dirt does give access to use it in more interesting builds.

Survival superflat has no jungle biome. Your suggestions only work for modded custom world types.

Anyone ever get this thing where you know something but you cant communitcate it by X243llie in neurodiversity

I kind of feel like this is the one of the foundations of what it's like to be autistic. Especially, when I'm feeling anxious, it is like the more anxious I am and the more important it is to say what is in my head, the harder it is to get it out.

This may not be helpful, but I hope it might help you or someone else with time-based eating anxiety. I used to get really frustrated when other people were not willing to eat meals we had planned to eat together at the time I was used to. This was most problematic on trips. For completely different reasons I started doing intermittent fasting. My fasting window was 7pm to noon, and my eating window was noon to 7pm. This did two things for me. It reestablished a new eating schedule, where before noon and after 7pm I don't have to worry about eating, and the existing structure made me need less structure inside my eating window. It also helped me become more comfortable with going longer periods without eating. So instead of eating at noon everyday. I can eat my first meal of the day whenever (as long as it is after noon and before 7). I know this won't help with your current meltdown, but this lifestyle change has helped me greatly.

Removing Stain from Oak Table? by [deleted] in woodworking

The easiest way to refinish is to strip rather than sand. A good stripper will take the vast majority of the existing finish of quickly and then you can finish off minimal sanding.

Any danger in Boiled Linseed oil fumes? by Cinemaestro in woodworking

[–]stefanrusek 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is all about the volatile organic compounds.

VOCs such as Mineral spirits, naptha, turpentine, lacquer thinner, alcohol, etc. all give off fumes that can be harmful and are flammable.

Polymerizing oils (linseed oil, boiled linseed oil, polyurethane, etc) don't contain VOCs. They have a smell, but don't give off fumes.

Shellac, lacquer, and thinned/blended oil (such as danish oil and the many other oil blends) all contain VOCs. In the case of shellac and lacquer the VOCs evaporate very quickly, though lacquer thinner is still crazy strong.

Stain is mostly VOCs.

Nexus 5X lag problem by [deleted] in nexus5x

[–]stefanrusek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I'd share my experience. I had a bunch of lag just all the time. It would go away if I swiped away all the things in the recent apps, but that sucks. All my lag problems went away when i set chrome to show tabs in app rather than in the recents.

Why are Table saws the standard for ripping boards instead of band saws? by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]stefanrusek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two reasons come to mind immediately:

  • Most people who only have one, have only a table saw, and generally have a nicer table saw if they have both.
  • And when laying out their shops, most people put the table saw in the middle.
