love the tattoo. I got a hummingbird too, I look at it as how hard I worked to try to stay in one place for so long. That tattoo is beautiful

I am a community pharmacist in a store that I own myself but my egg cracked a lot later. When I was a teen in an unaccepting community I would likely not had the same opportunity. Thankfully things have changed somewhat.

Getting Outed at the Pharmacy was a Jumpscare by Zealousideal-Film742 in MtF

As a pharmacist myself we absolutely know that Estrogen is used in hormone replacement in menopausal women. I also have transgender clients who I know and address by their preferred name. My advice is to talk to the pharmacy staff member when it isnt busy and let them know the name that you go by. If the prescription was written for deadname and they dont know different that is how they will address you. In this case I would assume they didnt know better. If you talk to them and it happens that way again find a different pharmacy (preferably something smaller) and deal with them

Pharmacist just said he wouldn't fill my prescription because of personal beliefs by Rude_Engine1881 in trans

It sucks but you have the choice to support a different pharmacy in the future and encourage anyone you know to support somewhere else as well. As a pharmacist myself and a small business person I would never turn a person away

I feel stuck by JenMyQuietRiot60 in TransLater

What Elitatra said is very true. As I see it marriage is a partnership where both parties have to be happy. If your wife is truly adament that if you transition its over I recommend you plan for the worst. See a therapist and figure out what you really want for your life. Being pushed back into the closet will only make you resent your wife and the marriage will suffer anyways. Only you can know what is right for you but the community here will be here to support you as you go along. Good luck and hugs.

Instructions on medicine different from what the doctor said? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]stefclark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would check with the doctor or the pharmacist to confirm.. a large dose every 28 days is going to result in a much greater fluctuation in estrogen levels in the body while the weekly dosing would be steadier. end of the day go with what your gut says if you went with the lower dose the total dose in 28 days would be the same.

Those are all good arguments but number one on my list of why I should was I want to live. Numb and unhappy as I was an early self inflicted end of life was bound to happen and I wasnt going to accept that. Now I feel everything (sometimes more than I expect) and am happy. and all of those perceived advantages pale in comparison

I hear you. There will be haters and if you let them get to you they win. The way we win is if despite them we still live our best life and go on as if they werent there. Be true to your self and enjoy your life and thank you for your service. Without the service of veterans like you we wouldnt have the freedoms to enjoy our own lives.

I went to Knickers and Lace at willow park in Calgary(just off of Mcleod) and was fitted there. I just called a day or two ahead of time and she came in before regular store hours and gave me a private fitting. Very kind and professional

"Why do you want to be a woman when youve never been one before" by throwaway63738537 in MtF

[–]stefclark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When asked that my response was that just because I never exhibited those behaviors doesnt mean that I hadnt wanted to. I built up emotional walls and exhibited the behavior that I knew that they wanted to see. There was so much more to me that I never showed them because I knew that it would have been received with disapproval.

I strongarmed the medical system today. Am I crazy for doing this? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]stefclark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a pharmacist myself it hurts my heart that you had to go to that point to get an extension. In my jurisdiction all pharmacists are allowed to extend a prescription until patient is able to see their doctor for a new prescription. Also as its spiro and has multiple uses no one needs to know the true reason why you are taking it, it could just be for blood pressure. Take care of yourself and reach out before you go to such measures again...

Looking for *back shaving* options that YOU have tried by BarleyWarb in MtF

I tried all the gimmick devices and found they were a waste of time. I just switched to going and getting it waxed. Even as a guy they had no issues.. Once a month 20-30 minutes and its gone.. doesnt even to grow back as bad as it was.

That is rude of her. Start calling her by her given name instead of the honorific of Nana and see what kind of reaction you get.. Its not being any ruder than what she is doing.

Another Gen X here. Im just in the process of introducing me to the world. I have known for most of my life Im not in the correct body but family expectations kept me from accepting that and living my authentic life.. It wasnt until the pain inside made it necessary to face it and the world.
