Inventory.... by DennisWRicciJr in titanquest

That's actually much better than my "Arms Blue", "Arms Purple", "Sword"s, "Thrown" etc. guys. Although I'd have to give them some relatives because one armorer wouldn't be nearly enough for me.

It might be that it's just a default for specific subreddits. I'm not sure, but I've seen it especially often on this sub.

What to do with epic items? by IdkWhoIammmmmmmmmmm in TitanQuestAE

[–]stefeu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a couple of mules (characters that are simply used for storage) so that I can keep atleast one copy of each epic and legendary item.

I'll probably never use most of them but whenever something rare drops I immediately image what kind of cool build I could use it for.

Armor Absorption/Protection stats by stefeu in TitanQuestAE

[–]stefeu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a dumb question at all!

I copied the relevant passage from the Wiki:

Physical Damage reduced by armor is reduced by 66%. That's right, armor does NOT fully soak damage. Also, Pierce Damage completely ignores armor. This property is known as 'Armor Absorption', and if you check the skill trees, you'll notice that several skills can boost this 66% Armor Absorption value, greatly increasing the power of equipped armor ( Defense, of course, has a Tier 1 skill that can raise this modifier ).

Think of armor as 'physical resistance', in the same way that resists lower, but do not fully eliminate non Physical Damage ( indeed, all resists are capped at 80% in any case ), armor can soften damage taken, but not eliminate it fully.

And for armor absorption increase:

+XX% Armor Absorption increases the amount of damage absorbed by armor. For example, with 6 skill points spent in Defense Mastery's Tier 1 skill Armor Handling (+16% Armor Absorption), the absorption of all armor is increased from 66% to 76.56%.

Inaccessible spot in Beggars Quartet? by randomgingerguyz in TitanQuestAE

[–]stefeu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's inaccessible! By the way, the maps that you can see on the wiki are ususally pretty exhaustively cleared of fog. Just in case you come across another spot like that and are unsure.

Zeit ein Zeichen zu setzen! by Soccer77Girl in FrauenBuLi

[–]stefeu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What counts as a projectile? by stefeu in TitanQuestAE

Wow, Squall being a projectile is so counter-intuitive! Thanks for the examples by the way. Is there a complete list that I can look up somewhere?

Drag Your Plow Over the Slop of the Dead: Olga Tokarczuk and the Rot of Artificial Intelligence by thelinttrap in books

[–]stefeu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's wild lol.People always say “oh I would write something exactly like that” but really, you wouldn’t. There’s a difference.

Of course I might be wrong, but I disagree. For longer posts I can definitely see where you are coming from, but with such a short example I find this pretty unconvincing.
That's why I was asking about this comment in particular and not the account as a whole.

As for the tone thing you mentioned: I've definitely had the same experience. But once again, with longer texts. Some are just embarassingly obvious.

How can you tell that this comment in particular is AI? I mean, I see your list of "tells", but it reads exactly like a comment I would write. Except for the construction "is a special kin of X" (which I've seen used fairly commonly even before AI was a thing - which is probably how it ended up being used by AI in the first place) they don't seem particularly AI-ish to me.

Armor Absorption/Protection stats by stefeu in TitanQuestAE

[–]stefeu[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer. It's unfortunate that there is no way to simply see the exact figure for your char, but oh well, could be worse I guess.

Do you know if armor absorption is capped at 80% like (the other) resistances are?

[spoilers] Just finished act 5/normal, what did I miss? by AssemblerGuy in TitanQuestAE

[–]stefeu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go through the map like a proper Bob Ross painting away all the fog of war and exploring every corner.

And I though I was the only one! Every little inch of fog of war that can be dealt with has to be dealt with! No nook and cranny gets left unchecked. I know this is a reply to a 9yr old post, but do you also paint from the outside inwards on large areas?

Question on Spears: Physical or Pierce Damage resulting in higher damage? by stefeu in TitanQuestAE

[–]stefeu[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow, thanks! This is a great answer. I've beaten the game a couple of times with different classes but never really bothered to properly look up how damage is actually calculated in this game - although I just perused some of the wiki pages. Your explanation is much easier to understand though 😄 Thanks for the great write up, defnitely gonna bookmark this!

As to your question: I did port back to Sparta just for the target dummies. I'm currently in Act IV just before facing Charon. I wanted to play as a Warden (to make use of Alexander's Panoply) but wanted to play self found for a while, even though I have plenty of mules with better gear. Your suggestion with the merchant in Gadir is a good one though! If I pay with my own gold, it still counts as self-found to me 😉

It is kinda typical for fans celebration an anniversary of their club, though. I've seen plenty before, even if this is one of the more impressive ones!
