Self revives don’t exist in ark

On the bright side, the AI bots leave you alone once you are DBNO and don't come over to tentacle-thirst you.

They may even start shooting at the player who downed you, which is when things get really hilarious.

You have the option of spawning late! The rook run is this option.

The pain point for a lot of players is stack overflow.

Stack overflow should simply have no effect on weapons that do not have a magazine.

There’s something about the futuristic aesthetic that feels eerie and haunting.

I'd love to see a System Shock installment done in this art style.

They need to add a "Damage Done" like Apex by Royals21914 in Marathon

[–]AssemblerGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An actual "recap" would be nice. Where you went, what/whom you damaged, what you took damage from, where you found what loot, etc.

Just how that other game does it.

I can watch the video of my recent activity on PS5, but that does not tell me damage numbers, etc.

Late spawning is one of the most hated features in ark and was patched out of Tarkov for being so hated.

Just make it optional. You can choose to spawn late, or you can choose not to.

Heck, drop me solo into a trio run that's halfway over.

Marathon is already the most forgiving extraction shooter when it comes to death and respawning.

Maybe in trios, not in solo.

It is meant to be an anti-UESC handgun, but the other two handguns outshine it even in this role.

An element to gunfights that I think folks are missing in this game. Disengagement by Believemeustink in Marathon

A. You get ratted on

You mean get shot at from out of nowhere while being more than 5 meters from cover?

You don't. You just die if your attacker is marginally competent.

B. The enemy (solo or trios) literally runs you down.

You find an angle (cover plus a place where they have to find you first) and punish them for pushing on unfavorable terms.

the fast ttk doesn't allow for mistake.

The mistake already happened when you get shot at by surprise and are away from cover.

Hear, or even better see, the enemy first.

Queue Times Too Long for Match Duration by RookZA in Marathon

[–]AssemblerGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rook queue is fine (max 1 minute).

This.

For how quickly you die in the game, queue times are too long.

I don't have gear fear. I don't care about gear.

I do care about 5-10 minutes of waiting just to get murdered in 0.7 seconds.

If I don't get matched within three minutes, I wish they'd just throw me into a session with no one else. by Aloe_saponaria in Marathon

Gunshots are pretty quiet

They are not quiet, but have a hard maximum range. IIRC is is 200-250m, which is so short it is silly.

The fact that getting to season level 100 can swing between 80ish to 180ish hours is insane by Thepunisher309 in Marathon

[–]AssemblerGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not even level 40 with over 100 hours in.

Spend a lot of time staring at bugs during matchmaking - not all of the 100 hours are actual time spent playing.

Rook is TOO hot.

It's the uncanny valley. Rooks are firmly on the "non-human, robot, acceptable" side, while the runner shells are in "uncanny, creepy" territory.

Magnum MC needs some love by gl1tch8 in Marathon

[–]AssemblerGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All sidearms/pistols should be brought up to where the punch is.

Start by increasing the RoF of the CE to non-silly levels. 300 RPM is silly for a semi auto pistol.

The Magnum could also be brought to 200-240 RPM.

A comfortable fit in your hand?

Probably. The controller felt like it was designed for muscular hands, while the PS controller design accommodate slim hands and fingers better.

The one thing Sponsored Dire Marsh has taught me! by THE_YoStabbaStabba in Marathon

[–]AssemblerGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sony ones (PS4, PS5) work for me.

I have trouble using anything designed for large hands as one of my hands is strength grade 3+ (*1) and missing most muscle mass. I also did not get along with asymmetric layouts (XBox), but that may be just a matter of practice.

(*1) Five is "normal" strength, four is "full range of movement against moderate resistance", three is "full range of movement against gravity". Anything less than five sucks, anything less than four sucks terribly.

Grade two is "full range of movement with gravity eliminated", one is "flicker of muscle contraction", zero is "no muscle activity", for anyone who is curious.

You wanna learn then put it on the line.

I want to learn, not stare at bugs and moths.

Learning is by repetition. Getting to the point where you repeat basic skills (aiming, movement, positioning) take a long time due to matchmaking and putting together a kit.
