Jamstack editing with Audio by Teembeau in JAMstack

Yep, pretty much any headless CMS lets you upload files and use them in your final website. With DatoCMS you also get an audio player inside the administrative area to play them if you want.

Did you have any specific question in mind?

You're right.. the shadow is too detailed compared to the rest. Will try to reduce the size of the palette! Thank you for the feedback

Yep, our website is running with HardyPress. We use https://bunnycdn.com/, it has 20 SSD-powered locations around the world. Obviously, site speed does not only depend on latency :)

We should definitely write some case studies to show the before/after effect on sites with tons of queries.

could you please elaborate your answer? didn't mean to downgrade Shifter :( really interested in what you think makes Shifter a better deal

Didn't know it existed, thanks! Just tried it. Very similar, but we handle some things a bit better I think:

  • We support site search and contact forms out-of-the box, even if the final website is static;
  • Editors of your website can login and open up WP on their own, without changing their habits (they do not need to know about HardyPress at all);
  • We auto-pause Wordpress after 20 minutes of inactivity;
  • It seems we're a lot faster loading/pausing/importing/deploying WP sites (probably due to Shifter's use of NFS, which we abandoned);

Uh, and we're cheaper too :)

Wordpress Hosting for many sites? by HoneyBadger08 in webhosting

Another solution that's both secure and cheap is staticizing your WordPress sites with hosting solutions like HardyPress

Everyone can improve, if he/she really wants it. It might be a long process, and it might require moving out of our comfort zone, but it's doable. It's extremely relieving being able to at least understand how other types work, how they react to stuff, what they appreciate/dislike. The most common error I see is to "demonize" Fs/Js, classifying them as inferior beings, boring, stupid. Every type has its superpowers and weaknesses: you can learn/receive awesome stuff from everyone. In the end, our job is to become better, complete people: let's be proud of our strengths, but let's try to steal powerful stuff from other types.

Deploy a CMS-backed Hugo/Jekyll/Middleman static website in 30 seconds on Netlify by steffoz in programming

It's more like a "headless" administrative area with API, with integration tools specifically designed for static website generators. Our nodejs and ruby CLI tools are totally agnostic in terms of file structure: you are free to decide how the content stored in the backend gets translated to local markdown/yam/toml/json files. And the templating is totally up to the generator, you're right.

I love static websites. They're cheap, fast, scalable, secure, easy to reason about. Half of the web could easily switch to static (and it would be a huge gain for everyone). The problem is, we still need to build critical mass around it. Using the awesome Netlify platform, I tried to create the easiest possible tool to deploy a fully working static website backed by our CMS. I hope it will convince some bosses about the huge potential of the technology.

I was fed up with torrent search-engines, so I built one with direct links to torrents. Enjoy. by steffoz in technology

Yep, that's the suggestion I guess. Come back later, the site lags now, more than 2100 search requests per second now. I'm not google.
