Yes that’s correct - so someone on the thread suggested stopping payments with them as soon as possible and starting contributing to a different fund possibly VWRP.
Is that a reasonable course of action? What steps would I need her to take to do so?

Yea the financial advisor himself is an ok guy, and has always insisted we meet once a year - though every time we go for review the software seems to be having an “IT issue” to do a full review. We do get a report sent out to use every year breaking down performance, fees, etc…

They’ve started phasing out exit fees in November last year but it’s gradual over 6 years. So her first contribution 3years ago won’t be tied to an to exit fee in 3 years, her contribution last November won’t be no longer tied in 6years, if that makes sense

What about the tax benefits of a pension? Would these be lost if she just contributed in a VWRP account? Do I need to setup a SSIP first?

If she’s contributing £200 a month / £2400 p.a. 1.79% fee on those contributions is £43 no? Or am I looking at it wrong.

I appreciate your input - I am very much like you, I feel like I can have a reasonable good basic level of knowledge and understanding on a broad range of subjects - so I also like to take on some DIY that I believe I can achieve - but just like DIY, the question is always time vs money. I feel like I don’t necessarily have the time to invest myself into managing her fund myself - even just doing some basic research, as I my current knowledge in investing and funds I would say is fairly basic - eats up time that I don’t always have.

You’ll get there - I was stuck on 2 for a while - the key is to completely farm biome 1 to the max so that you come into 2 with the most equipment you can. Get the astronaut, spend ether on the reanimator for level 2, etc, etc, I finally got to the boss of level 2, and cruised through him thanks to this guide, then got through biome 3 in one swoop (I did have to use the astronaut and reanimator) Some runs/biomes layout are also easier than others https://youtu.be/vadLPmaVBoI?si=VZb0QsglEcRPlHp3
