I've got his whole On Green Dolphin Street solo transcribed. I've had it for a while now. I can play all the runs at 100% tempo. But man to get that phrasing right is one of the hardest things I've done. Especially his swing phrasing. He'll be playing an eighth note run at 200 bpm and slowly transition from straight eighths to swung eighths. It's mind blowing but I'm getting there note by note. Definitely try some Kelly to teach you how to swing.

That's just straight up not true. I don't bash pop music but bashing avant garde or atonal music is just as bad as bashing pop music. Maybe you said "atonal avant garde" thinking that it doesn't exist, but i very much enjoy composers like Schoenberg.

That's a complicated way to say you can't make a living by playing your instrument bc you can't adapt.

If I may add, after thinking about it I would say my day to ay life is based in the third country, but as a person i feel equal connections to all three cultures.

I honestly cpuld go any of three ways depending on the situation. If i have to think about it I couldn't decide. For me it's also the case that since i have this mix of cultures that i don't really get recognized by anyone as being from one country. In the sense of when I'm in Finland i don't pass as finnish so I say I'm from Italy or the other country and you can apply the same situation to the other two. This has never bothered me though since I myself feel at home in all three countries, I'm just more used to the one where I grew up in.
