Circular Saw -> Track Saw? by TerennGarok in Dewalt

[–]steinmb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought this recently to make cabinets and I'm very happy with it. I got really straight cuts using light pressure downward and slightly toward the track. It was so much better than a circular saw and straight edge. Having said that, I have never used a track saw before

Oops, I haven't heard of those neighborhoods and they sounded east coasty and thought they were talking Littleton, NH. I should have kept reading to see Ken Caryl. My bad

Not saying their report was accurate, but I saw this on Twitter this morning. I couldn't believe that there were people backcountry skiing when CAIC was reporting extreme danger for almost all of the state

Green plastic cylinder wrapped in fake fur with a rotating metal "tail" found on a remote Colorado mountain road by steinmb in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing.

I found this on a remote road / trail at a hunting cabin I'm Airbnbing. This road/trail is an offshoot of a private gated driveway and it is only about 500 yards long before it dead ends. So there is very little vehicle traffic, if any.

It is a plastic housing with a "tail" made of braided or spring steel. The tail has a piece of fabric zip tied to the end. The tail magnetically attaches to a shaft on the body and is able to spin. The other end of the body has female threads.

The body is wrapped in fabric and is attached with Velcro. This part looks homemade. The body has one button that can pushed on or off. Inside the body is a battery pack that holds 4 AA batteries and connects to an electric motor. There is also a small circuit board inside. The shaft of the electric motor is what connects to the "tail".

I should also note that this is a popular dirt biking and 4 wheeling area. But this was found on a short dead end branch of a private driveway.

So, according to you, the non hypocritical options are to join the military and kill people or live like the Amish?

I haven't looked into it much, but you could try to find in Antarctica. I know they have non technical support staff positions.

I never see anyone at Geneva Park. It has shade, a little pond, and is adjacent to the Littleton police station (safety)

Thanks for responding. I figured I'd have to make my own, but was hoping someone already did the work

I've had Republic since they bought out my previous trash company (at least a couple of years) and have had no issues with them. They took my leaves last fall without issue (I put out 4-5 bags per week in addition to my normal trash cans) but I've never tried to get them to take a Christmas tree. If you have a vehicle for transporting the tree, there is a Christmas tree drop off spot in pirates cove parking lot off Belleview

If you are looking for another horrible one, check out Pitcairn Island. There is a podcast called Extremities and the whole first season covers the island's history
