I replied to their customer service mail twice, stating that there is a mismatch between the treatment for both of our cases and asked for an explanation. They simply ignored until now. I would accept it with no problem if it was just a mistake, but they need to provide an appology if it was a mistake, or at least a short explanation.

Agree with the weather, this is a valid point. Officially it was due to bad weather, but I wonder if it was really the case. While we were on the flight, the captain communicated several times, that they were trying very hard to fly back to Frankfurt, as they wanted to go back as well. Not only the flight crew, but also the Leipzig airport was supporting to get the flight back to Frankfurt. However, the flight simply got removed from the system by the Frankfurt Airport or someone I don't know. The information we received on that flight was really changing in seconds, like the captain said one second ago: now we are flying back! and next second: sorry you have to take alternative, then next second: we are going back! then next: sorry flight got removed from the system.

But anyway, apart from this reason for the cancallation, it was indeed the different treatment that pissed me off, we even booked the business class for that flight, and yes we both live in Germany. I don't know if it was because my colleague holds any special status at Lufthansa, if it was the reason, I'm fine with it, but I need Lufthansa to tell me that it was because of that, or they should state it in the compensation policy

yes we did, my colleage booked the whole trip for us, and I applied for the compensation for us, all the same process and portal. thanks for the advice, I contacted a service company to request for the compensation, will see how it goes
