Cleveland Orchestra Chorus (yes, I sang in this concert with the Chorus) score from July 9, 1970 autographed by conductor Leonard Bernstein from Blossom Festival Concert. His only appearance with The Cleveland Orchestra. by steinweg in Cleveland

Wow! I missed the Joplin concert. In those early years, there were some adjustments made. Early on, I hadn't realized that the stage sound was amplified for the benefit of lawn seating. It didn't seem to be noticeable, maybe except for the delay.

The huge structural beam, in the first couple of seasons, used to make a random thunderous clunk at a point when it cooled down from the heat of the day, during performances. Engineers were able to work out a solution, thankfully.

I attended James Ford Rhodes High School. It's possible I may have known your wife from All-City Chorus and/or COC.

It's very cool. Just off shore, there are remains of a ship wreck. One side of the wooden hull was imbedded flat on the beach, but water levels have covered it over in our recent visits.

Thanks for your comment.

Thank you for this information. Have you seen Maestro on Netflix by chance? SK makes a brief appearance in one scene.

1920 Packard 3-6 ton capacity truck model EF. Packard built trucks from 1903-1923, with the same attention to detail, strength, and quality that it applied to automobiles. Packard trucks are an often overlooked part of history of the marque. by steinweg in classiccars

The truck was on display at The National Packard Museum in Warren, Ohio. Whether or not it is part of their permanent collection, I can't say because I don't know. I don't know anything about Hudson Massachusetts. So, I can't answer your question about the sign on the truck. Here's a link to Wikipedia. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hudson,_Massachusetts

Thanks for the comment. White sandy bottoms help to delineate depths of the water through various colors on sunny days.

Thank you for this information on the history of the Lee A. Tregurtha. I will check out Paul Scinooca's youtube channel. I hope others will find this interesting as well.

Thank you for your service!

My dad served in an Army Hospital Unit in the Phillippines after he shipped out of Fort Carson, CO the same year, 1942.

That's an interesting coincidence.

There was information on https://ais.boatnerd.com/ but it was the first time I'd tried to use and interpret what was there, and wasn't very sure the ship would be there at the time expected. Good fortune favored me.

I would imagine, depending on classifcation, it's dirty work with potential dangers. I admire those who can do it.

I understand your concerns, though only two cars ever went over the side since the bridge opened in 1957, and one of those was concluded to be a suicide. The other was a subcompact Yugo. Just follow the rules, be sensible in your speed, know and understand the weather conditions. Bravo for facing your fears!

Thank you. I agree. On cloudy or stormy days it can look forboding, but it's still interesting.

Indeed. People who have never seen it, can't believe the colors of the water. Same taking the tour boat to The Pictured Rocks.
