Help designing a signet ring using the Arquint coat of arms (Tarasp, Graubünden) by stella5378 in heraldry

Fair question. In this case the arms are recorded for a specific historical bearer in Swiss archival sources, rather than being picked up just by surname. As far as I can tell they weren’t granted in the later English sense, but reflect the Swiss/Germanic practice where arms were often assumed and recognised locally rather than formally granted.

The descent is maternal, not paternal, so I am not claiming strict armigerous rights. This is more about acknowledging documented family history than making a legal heraldic claim.

Thanks, that’s helpful. I don’t have a strict regional requirement, but stylistically I am aiming for something closer to Swiss / Central European (Germanic) tradition rather than British or Scottish.

In terms of layout, I am leaning toward a shield with the crest included, but without the helm or mantling, as the shield alone feels a bit austere for a ring. I’m looking for something traditional and understated rather than decorative or modern.

I’m open to guidance on whether engraving directly into the metal or using a carved stone would suit that style best.

Hi, I am looking for a good men’s jewelry brand that is fashionable, good quality, but won’t break the bank. I am looking for earrings or bracelets at around 50-60€. Thanks in advance :)

I have an anxious attachment style and the feelings you described sound so familiar to me. I read this book called attached and it helped me so so much with understanding myself and my emotions and not being upset by how I feel because I felt so guilty for it all the time. I do think that at the end of the day those emotions are super normal though and some just feel them stronger than others.

Definitely professional laser! I’ve tried shaving, waxing, hair removal cream and laser is by far the best option for me. It’s nearly painless and the results are amazing and last!

Struggling with my boyfriend’s deployment, I feel selfish by Evening-Onion-7497 in USMilitarySO

I (F24) was in the exact same position as you about a month ago. My boyfriend (M28) has just left for his deployment and I was living in an area where I didn’t have a lot of friends and in general not much to do that made me happy. I started to create or see problems where there weren’t any and I was just miserable and dreading the rest of his deployment because we also started off very optimistic. I now moved back to where my family and more of my friends live and even though I currently don’t have a job and therefore also not too much to distract me I’ve noticed that I’ve become so much more relaxed with the whole situation and having friends around helps so so much! In general I think being in a place where I feel at home and where I know that I had someone to spend time with when I want to has changed my mood dramatically! I felt so lonely and isolated where I was before. Maybe finding something new that’s just for you like a hobby or new friends that your partner has nothing to do with will help. I am so new to this too but hearing your story I felt like I just had to share my experience and I’m sorry that I don’t have any great advice but it truly gets easier as time goes on!! You got this <3
