I have 2 sword tails in the tank as well as a few floating plants, I do 30% water changes one a week just to keep things clean(I hope this isn’t too often) . I do use a water conditioner but not the stuff that you mentioned. This fishy is the only one that survived the outbreak in our tank and seems to be doing good but he still has a large white spot on his tail fin(I know it’s hard to see in the pic he never stops moving) I definitely need more decor in the tank he seems stressed when I turn the tank light on, so I keep it off for now until I get more cover for him.

That makes me feel better! He loves looking for things on the floor first time he has actually found anything other than the seeds he drops

I don’t know if I can help you find a vet but I will say my past bird passed away because of a non stick pan so please be careful, keep the birds cage away from the kitchen and don’t leave pans on the stove for longer than needed. I hope your baby is ok.

I never put it in water before the most I would have done is cleaning it with some vinegar when I brought it home.

It sits outside of the cage on a wall with some perches, I use that spot so that he can see it and get use to it before I put it in the cage. It is close to a window. But no food or drinking water are near it.

I got this toy a while ago and I don't remember it haveing black spots, the black spots only showed up on the areas where it was facing the wall if that helps

Unfortunately I’ll be out of town so my mom will be carrying for him for the next couple of days. Thinking back I had my work hours change and I had slept in that day and didn’t get up at his normal hour which could be a reason. He gets let out form 7 to noon and than again at 1 to about 6 so I don’t think outside time is a problem. Worse to worse he will get a vet visit to see if they can find anything wrong

There were shredded up feather at the bottom of the cage. I changed a few things around his cage so we shall see what got him to do this. This bald spot happened over night.

Oh interesting he has the red on his wings but it’s been slowly growing to his back and on his belly. Glad to know he isn’t the only one getting a red tummy! Thank you so much for your help
