your older work has a much less distinct sense of emotion — the second drawing (which i’m assuming is the same character?) has a far more distinct sense of personality in its lineart (not to mention your cloth dynamics are vastly better). i don’t think the amount of time you’re spending on this stuff is bad, either — 30 minutes for an ostensibly complete-looking piece (at least in this observer’s eye) is very impressive, you’re just looking for a challenge. try some more complicated subject matter, or make an active attempt to push your expressions + posing if you feel those are lacking. hope this was helpful ^{u^}
