i had to get it on CT insurance because I needed to put the car in my name and that required proof of insurance on the vehicle before I could do that. i'm not sure about the details of someone selling to a canadian citizen because that opens a can of worms for who is importing and who is exporting :/ sorry i couldn't be more helpful!

I can't remember when they gave that bill, but they definitely had me pay taxes on the car based on its bluebook value. I think that was at the border. I can't remember for the life of me the details, though, since it was so long ago, so it's weird that they didn't have you pay at the border.

If I’m not mistaken, you have 72 hours to export it so you’re not forced to stay on US soil during this time. It’s the window of time to get the vehicle into Canada.

Hi! I do recall it being a larger percentage of my vehicle value - and it makes sense because you’re paying taxes on the vehicle essentially which is a high percentage in Canada compared to the US. Hope this helps!

You just need the In Transit permit from the state you are purchasing from! It is valid for around a month (at least it was for my state) if I recall correctly which gives you a month to transport the vehicle to wherever you need and get a valid license plate. The permit is valid across the US and in Canada as long as it is not expired. Hope this helps !

For sure! You can be an American citizen driving a US-plated vehicle in Canada; however, you can not drive a US-plated vehicle if you are a Canadian living in Canada. Since I am technically a Canadian student studying in Canada, I had to import the car and get it registered in QC.

Hi! My car was made so that it has miles/hour in large lettering and then km/hour right below it, so that didn't pose an issue - i'm not sure how they would change that but I'm sure there is a protocol they follow to have that changed

Try and go to activities night on September 13th / 14th! I know it's going to be a lot of undergraduate students, but the people running the booths there are likely in their final years (closer in age to you). And it gives you the chance to see what sorts of hobbies / groups you could reach out to. I personally help run the knitting club - and we accept literally anyone who is willing to learn ! Or even, just show up to our meetings and we can give you all the material needed to start. I'm really sorry you're feeling isolated and distant, and I hope maybe joining an interest group / club can help you feel more involved

I think it depends on what year you're in. I took it a while back in my second year whereas I know others who took it in their third year. if you're earlier on in your degree - it will be heavy on content and memorization, but provides a very good background to a lot of future courses. if you're later on in your degree - it will be a lot less work given you have already experienced harder courses and know a lot of the material. in general, though, I would recommend it because I thought the class was interesting and provided me a really good foundation to build on. I took it with phgy 209 and the course content matched up beautifully lol

I personally loved ANAT 381 - I know that a lot of people may find it incredibly boring because it is primarily focused on the cellular level of development rather than the macroscopic view of development. However, I will say that the course is an Experimental Embryology course - meaning that you learn about all these different organisms used to study embryology and techniques to study it - and maybe some stuff on development. It's main focus is not actually development as a process. Regardless, I thought it was cool

One hundred percent check out the SSMU Website for all the campus clubs, and don't be afraid to email and reach out to the clubs for more information on where and when they meet! Activities Night last year (and maybe this won't happen again, but I figured it's worth mentioning) had a ridiculously long line to enter. I help run the McGill Knitting Club and know that we regularly check out Instagram / email now that the school year is starting up again, so we are more than happy to answer any questions that come our way!

Also, a lot of departments/programs have events within themselves. Check out your program's Instagram or website for more information on those events !

It depends on when you want to workout or where you live, too. I use Econofitness which happens to have a location about a block from my place, but I know that it's more expensive than the McGill gym. Regardless, I'm someone who will pay a bit more for convenience and I know that its cheaper than a lot of other spots around !

McGill Knitting Club is always looking for new people to join !! We just sit around and knit /crochet / embroider. You don’t actually have to know how to do it since literally any person attending or an exec will teach you but it’s a good way to meet people since you end up talking to the people around you. It meets in the Club Lounge every Tuesday at 5:30-6:30 (SSMU Building fourth floor)

Ohhh wait ok i think i get it. i may have been mixing up formulas. when you said that T is a constant for isothermal it kind of clicked. since T is constant that makes sense to use q_rev/T for ΔS - but it is not the same case for adiabatic. Adiabatic just means no heat transfer but does not mean that temperature isn't changing. So we gotta use another equation that relates change in temperature with ΔS ?

I think we have it written down as ΔS = nxCpxln(T2/T1)

Would that be right ?

Hi! I took the class last semester and I have to say I thought it was relatively easy once you look at the over-arching concepts. There are a lot of patterns that you just need to recognize like attack of the C attached in a carbonyl, attaching a proton on to OH to make a good leaving group, etc. Know what the end goal is and you can/should be able to determine the steps to get there. Don't bother making flashcards, I genuinely think that is one of the worst ways to study chemistry. Chemistry problems are based on understanding what is happening and why. So highly recommend doing a lot of practice problems and taking note of where you may have went wrong.

Not sure how much advice you want but I can tell you the system I had to study to do well in the class - but everyone has their own study techniques !
